Following their meeting with Matthews; Sally, Tom and Ahmed were all in high spirits. They hadn"t discovered anything new, but they"d made a useful ally who was capable of opening doors to facilitate their enquiries. Nothing had changed though, Tom didn"t like the man, but he was prepared to work with him if it would help achieve their objectives. Ahmed was thrilled to have been in his company, believing his life and career expectations were getting better by the minute. Sally was more blasé. She was aware of and quite flattered by his attention, but she held a similar view to Tom – seeing him only as a catalyst to help them progress their research.
