CHAPTER 5 Reagan and Jackson had made plans to spend Sunday evening together. One of the Christmas traditions in Newbrook was the display of lights that stretched on for blocks in the heart of downtown. Most of the citizens would make their way to the exhibition every year, even though it rarely changed. It was one of the few things that people could do and not spend a dime more than the gas it took them to get there. Lucky for Reagan, the display was only six blocks from her apartment. Jackson drove across town to meet her by the library. Reagan layered up in her winter gear, then walked out the door and down the steps.
