Reagan finished out the day without another word from Valerie. Her irate coworker wouldn’t even make eye contact with her. That entire week, Reagan drifted through each day in a daze, happy to feel like she had the upper hand for once. For her, it was t*****e waiting for Saturday to come. She hadn’t been out to see a movie in years. Normally, she waited for them to come out on DVD so she could just watch them at home.
On Saturday morning, she made her usual trip to the library to exchange books and talk to Donna. Once again, Reagan had so much that she wanted to say, and none of it was about the book she had read. Donna, of course, enjoyed the chance to have a little girl talk, as Mary wasn’t much of a chatter.
