CHAPTER 20 Reagan reached for a tissue and handed it to her daughter. Emma stared back at her mother, dabbing at her eyes with the tissue in hand. “You all right?” Reagan asked her. “Yeah, I just feel terrible,” Emma told her. “I’m such a terrible daughter. You must hate me.” “No, honey. Don’t say that. I could never hate you. I love you more than you know. You’re my daughter, I’d do anything for you.” “That’s my point. You’re so loving and caring. Doesn’t matter how horrible I’ve been, you never seem frustrated with me. How can you be so . . . nice?” Emma asked. Reagan laughed. “Well, for starters, you’re my daughter.
