Blaine was pacing back and forth when he saw her near the shoreline.
"Thank God!" He let out a sigh of relief as a very naked Leigh walked out of the water causing him to have an instant erection. Klaud looked at him "Signa" he said staring at Kaleigha.
“What?” Blaine said looking from him to her.
"So beautiful she is." Klaud stood admiring her. Blaine could not control the jealousy he felt although he knew she was not his.
“This is Klaud Leigh, my best friend. Dude, can you at least pretend to have manners?”
"My father wishes to meet you," Klaud said staring at Kaleigha's full breast unashamed.
Blaine removed his t-shirt and pulled it over her shoulder as if she was a child he was dressing.
"Are you okay Leigh?"
"It's beautiful out there, so peaceful. I could have stayed out there forever."
He grabbed her into a hug and held her "I'm glad you came back to me. I would have missed you." Kaleigha enjoyed his warmth, but she wished it was Zion holding her.
Klaud cleared his throat and they separated "if you will follow me."
“What,” Blaine struggled to find the words, “What happened to you?”
“I am many things.” She said simply not fully understanding herself, “Awakening.”
The moment Vladimir saw her he said the first thing that came to mind." Aponi."
"You knew my mother?"
"As the humans would say in the biblical sense."
Kaleigha blushed when he said this. Although she could see why her mother would find him attractive with his pale skin, electric blue eyes, and boyish blond hair. He was tall and sleek and dressed very eccentric. She did find it unsettling that he voiced that because it seems that wolves put a lot of stock in the mate bond. He was nothing like her father either. He was also tall, but he had hard charcoal skin and dark brown eyes, rakishly handsome he was.
"She had not met her fated yet dear. She had concluded that he had perished somehow so we found comfort in each other. When your father finally … appeared, she broke things off, but we remained friends even when he disapproved. She was a free spirit."
"To free if you ask me." Kaleigha then noticed the woman hanging back in the distance. She instantly disliked her.
"Excuse Saude she never cared much for Aponi."
"Tell me about her," Kaleigha spoke ignoring her rudeness altogether.
"Oh, Aponi was a force to be reckoned with before you three were born."
"Three?"
"Yes, oh Chenoa and Khrisna she doted on them, but she told me a thousand times over that Catori will be great."
"Great."
"Yes, you were displaying power so young."
He looked sad suddenly. "Do you know what happened that day Vladimir?"
"Yes, I went there I had to see for myself."
"She hid us under the floor, but I never knew what the cause was, what led them there."
"Are you sure you want to know?"
She nodded and he took her hands and time began to rewind.
"Khrisna run!" Catori said as she spun around in circles before taking off running and singing.
"Look what you have done Cat, look!" He said catching up with her he tackled her, and they fell in the tall grass entangled together laughing. When she sat up the once tall brown grass was now a field of wildflowers. She giggled "pretty Khrisna can you do it too?"
"Nope!" They both found this funny looking at each other they giggled again.
"Where is Noah?"
"I don't know let's find her." He stood reaching his hand out to her an arrow came piercing him in the heart." She screamed in horror as the blood-spattered all over her. That was the first time she heard the voice. 'Run Catori! Run to your mother!' She did she ran as fast as she could. "Mama, mama, Khrisna!" Aponi came outside and she spotted the three men on horseback heading toward the house. Her husband appeared from the side of the house and morphed into wolf form. She grabbed Catori and ran into the house placing her and Chenoa under the floor. She told them "Don't come out unless I tell you too."
She walked outside and the three men on horseback stopped short in front of them. "You disobeyed the decree, Aponi!"
They then dropped Khrisna's lifeless body to the ground in front of them. Her father lunged forward knocking one man off his horse ripping his neck out. Kaleigha was balling at this point as she watched the gruesome display ultimately ending in the death of her parents. She saw herself crawling from the whole and finding her mother. Attempting to heal her, once again she heard herself being instructed by the mysterious voice. "Run Catori they are returning." She saw herself running blindly through the woods then stopping.
"Noah"
She turned back only to find her house in flames and her parent’s bodies along with Khrisna gone.
Kaleigha was breathing heavily as the reality hit. "They left the pack."
"Yes, your mother knew she carried a son, and he would have died upon arrival. She left to protect him and the pack. They would not have followed the order. They tracked them though after staying hidden for three years. "It was I who drew their attention with the wildflowers in the winter, not Khrisna. It's my fault I am responsible."
"Catori, your mother had the gift of foreshadowing. She knew she would one day be torn away from you. She accepted her fate and did not try to change things because she said it was part of your journey."
"Wait I'm confused, are you saying my mother knew I was the Chosen."
"Selene spoke to her as she does you."
"Selene."
"Yes."
"Selene as in the Goddess Selene?"
"Who did you think the voice was in your head?"
Kaleigha inhaled sharply, she stepped away for a moment. "You heard her tell me to run?"
"I did."
"So, all of my life that voice that I have been hearing. It was Goddess herself, speaking to me?" Kaleigha grabbed a chair and Blaine helped her to sit.
"Yes."
"If you don't mind giving me a second to process all of this."
Kaleigha stood and walked away momentarily. Her thoughts were everywhere. Her family died because of her and she would have to tell Chenoa the only one she had left. How would she respond to this? Would she still want to know her? Then there was Moon Goddess, Selene over the years she had called her mother. Never shared the information that she heard her speaking with anyone because she thought she was crazy. So, loving and constant she had been. She was Chosen. She felt a little embarrassed of her reference to her, so personal.
"She has never corrected it dear because she is your creator," Vladimir said, leaving her to wonder how he so easily knew her thoughts.
"I suppose we all have gifts just as we all have our burdens to bear."
"Leigh, I think you have had enough for tonight let's get you home." He placed a hand on the small of her back to guide her toward the exit.
Vladimir cleared his throat "Catori, your mother asked me to be a confidant for you when you came to me. I will be here when needed. She also said you would have a gift for me."
"A gift?" Kaleigha looked puzzled.
"It is okay, I'm sure you will think of it later. Hopefully, I will see you soon, perhaps you will attend the next meeting Ogar has with your mate."
"Ogar?"
"Yes, he is the one that conducts the trades on behalf of the Vampire. It's because he is impenetrable. I nor the Werewolves can read him therefore we can't comb his mind for secrets. Ammunition to use against the other."
"Ogar, the disgusting troll that smells up the south end of the territory?" His son said.
"Son, he is a great asset."
"How come you don't do the trade yourself?"
Kaleigha asked stepping away from Blaine; she noticed the look Vladimir made when he touched her although it was faint and brief.
"Well, every other species can wander about during the day, but we are not. I do, however, must admit I preferred doing business with Alpha Lucas; he was a much fairer man than young Zion."
He had her attention now "how so Vladimir may I ask?"
"The Vampire and Werewolf treaty that was made years ago. We agreed to not kill humans in exchange the Werewolves run a blood bank during the day once a month and in exchange for the blood, we assist in protecting the borders at night. We also provide a few other resources as well. It was fair under Alpha Lucas, but Zion is now keeping 10 percent of the blood promised and charging us for it."
Kaleigha frowned; this did not sound like her mate. "I will look into this Vladimir."
"Well, it sounds like a lucrative way to make some extra cash. Maybe your golden boy is not so golden." Blaine chimed in which rubbed her wrong.
"Are you implying that my mate is capable of this type of behavior when you know practically nothing about him?"
"I'm just saying you met you guy a few days ago and now you're so in love with a stranger Leigh what do you really not know about him?'
"What do I really know about you Blaine? And you have no horse in this race so why do you feel the need to comment at all?" They stared at each other for a moment. He was hurt that she had been so harsh with her words in front of everyone and she was furious that he was attacking her mate and her decision even though she had some of the same apprehension. She turned and saw a faint but brief smirk on Vladimir's face. Had he goaded them into an argument to see where she stood with her mate?
"I did no such thing. I have no horse in that race." He said, eyeing her. He could see she had her mother’s fiery personality and he had already grown fond of her. "Well, Catori it was a pleasure meeting with you dear. The next time you speak with Selene please tell her I miss our one on ones."
Kaleigha studied Vladimir a moment before nodding "One more thing Vladimir more mother's pack was-"
"They were healers, the warrior burned down their village but as many lives were lost as they think. Luna wanted to protect their identity until she knew if you could be trusted. Maybe one day you and I," he looked directly at Blaine when he said, "and your mate could take a trip."
"She lit up "I would love that!"
"Ah yes and bring your sister as well I'm sure she too would love to meet her pack."
"Thank you, Vladimir."
After Blaine said goodbye to his best friend, they left and headed back toward the packhouse. "I don't trust the bloodsucker how do you know you can trust anything that came from his mouth? I should have never taken you there."
"Blaine he wasn't lying," Kaleigha said still a little annoyed at him.
"But how do you know?"
"Because I can see his aura!" she snapped, and she saw the look of hurt on his face.
"I'm sorry Blaine I didn't mean to yell but you have to stop this."
"Stop what Leigh, pointing out the obvious?"
"I know that you don't have a God to believe in, so it is easy for you to discount mine."
"Wait a minute! That is not fair I believe in God!"
"Just not my creator."
He was silent now as he thought of how to answer her.
"I just think your different so the rules can be different."
"How so?"
"Reject him, Leigh. Choose me and we can rule together. I know you have feelings for me you're just fighting them because you think you’re doing the noble thing. Together we could rule and be happy."Just think about it, Leigh. He turned and headed toward Chasity's cabin. She knew he had given up a lot to be a friend to her and she did feel something for
Zion stood in the window watching them. He saw her head toward the packhouse and decided against confronting her. What good would it do at this point? She had something going on with the demigod. He was beginning to feel resentment toward her and he hated feeling this way toward his mate. The next morning he and Kevin gathered their belongings before heading out. He was surprised to find her waiting for him when he slid into the driver's side. "Kali Kool Kat I didn't know you were joining us."
"Me either," Zion said, looking over at her as Kevin eased it into the back seat.
"If I am to be Luna one day I felt it was time I learned the working of a pack."
Her response completely threw him off. Your boyfriend might not like you talking like that, he thought to himself as he started up the truck. He didn't even notice her staring at him oddly as he drove.
Kevin did most of the talking on the ride there; he and Kaleigha were lost in their thoughts.
When they arrived Zion went about giving orders to his attending pack members as they began to arrive. "It makes it quicker when everyone has assigned duties. Otherwise, I would be here all day. My father and his Beta normally take care of Supplies while Mother does shopping for the pack as far as clothes and things like that. Some of the wolves chose never to leave Mystic Moon and sss is not delivering, he laughed at his joke. I handle the big stuff."
"Such as?"
"Mystic Moon uses witches for potions and things of that nature."
"Sluts." Kevin mumbled.
"When needed we keep a steady stock since we no longer have a resident witch."
Kaleigha flinched at his comment thinking of Chastity. "It tends to be less expensive this way. Also, there are the vampires."
"Night crawling bloodsuckers!" Kevin hissed.
"Kevin, you know that I am all, right?"
He looked confused "What do you mean Kali?"
"For one to have a domain overall, she must be all. So although I am a wolf I am also a slutty night crawling bloodsucker too." She looked back at Zion dismissing Kevin. "Does Mystic supply the whole state or-"
"Absolutely not only the coven that lies on our pack border. Each pack is responsible for tending to its Vampire population. It's hard enough taking care of our own. We all take risks."
"Zion and do you give all of what's collected to them?"
"No only what the treaty demands. The rest is distributed to the pack. Blood is a delicacy."
"You never give less than the treaty calls for?" He looks at her, his annoyance apparent.
"Kaleigha, it's important to show honor when trading. If word got around that Mystic Moon was not holding up their end of the bargain it would reflect badly on the pack and possibly cause an inquiry by the council."
The witches were beyond flirtatious when doing trading with Zion. "Alpha I could make so you would never have to purchase another potion again." A blond witch said, batting her eyes at Zion.
"And I can make it so you never breathe again," Kaleigha responded.
"Oh, I see you brought a mutt along to do business."
Kaleigha snapped her finger before Zion could respond. She then began sucking the air from the witches lungs
"Witch! What magic is this?" One of her companions shouted as the blond fell to her knees. "Are you ready to apologize?" Kaleigha asked. "Persephone!" The witch shook her head up and down and Kaleigha released her.
"You will not disrespect me and you will not make advances toward my mate. Next time I will let my wolf rip you to shreds."
"I am sorry Queen, I did not know you had risen. I will pass the word to others. Everything here today of course is yours at no charge." Before she could respond they practically jumped on their brooms and flew away.
Zion looked at her with his mouth open and Kevin had nearly wet his pants. Kevin finally got the courage to say "sorry Kali Kool Kat I did not mean to say what I did earlier."
"You did but you should not be so judgemental Kevin. We are all different but seek the same goal: the betterment of our kind. Who is next?"
Kaleigha said, pulling her hair back into a ponytail.
"Your wolf?"
"They do not have to know I have none." She shrugged. Zion felt himself growing hard and he so wanted her. She was extremely sexy to him when she took control. He tried focusing on the task at hand. "Ogar is always late. He is the worst businessman ever. He should be here in thirty minutes but that means an hour. We usually walk around while we wait. The fairies make the best-baked goods. Would you like to try some cakes?" he said as he now sat drumming his hands on the table.
"No."
"Well, I do." Kevin said, "I'll be back." He left out of the tent they were occupying. Zion’s mind went back to Blaine but before he could say something Kaleigha reached under the table and started stroking him.
"Do you think it is this that makes it hard to resist you, Zion? Everyone seems to notice it."
"You seem to do fine, so I doubt that." He said, watching her.
"It's impossible to hide. Why is it so big?"
"How do you know everyone notices my p***s?"
"The girls in the pack discuss it."
Zion looked shocked and then embarrassed.
"I wasn't aware that this was a topic of conversation."
She started to unbutton his pants. He grabbed her hand "I don't think this is the time or place for that Kaleigha."
"I can't touch you?"
"Well, you can but Cat someone could walk in and well."
"Well, what?" She wasn't sure why she was beginning to have this possessive nature when it came to Zion but the more, she was around him the more it angered her when others including him tried keeping her from what she felt was rightfully hers. Zion studied her he could feel the wave of possessiveness coming off of her and it only made him harder. He leaned back and she unbuckled his pants. Pulling his c**k out she admired his girth and length. She bit her lip as she stroked it. Zion moaned and closed his eyes as the wonderful Sparks invaded him. He knew the gentleman in him should stop her before someone caught her in a compromising position and just as he thought he had the strength to do so he felt her take him into the warmth of her mouth. "Aaah Cat wait." He choked out but it was too late she had found a rhythm. The sound of her sucking him was enough to drive him insane but even more was the focus that she had as she fed off of him. Making a popping noise with her mouth as she came up for air as she tried burying him each time further and further in her mouth. Dear Goddess, his mate had no gag reflex she was attempting to swallow him whole. Saliva dripped from the corners of her mouth and her eyes began to tear but still, she sucked him so feverishly that he could control it no more "Cat!" He called out grabbing her by the hair, but it was no use she sucked every drop from his body. And only after she had him jerking and shaking until completion was, she satisfied. "Delicious." She said satisfied licking her lips. "I want some more Zion." He quickly pulled his pants up and buckled them. He saw her eyes turn dark for a moment then she looked at him innocently "what's wrong Zion."
"Nothing my love later tonight we will have some fun, but we must finish our business now."
She pouted poking her lip out to show her disappointment.
"Zion." She said looking at him and biting her lip again.
"Yes, my sweet."
"I want more." She licked her lips. “I miss you so much.” She wasn't sure what it was but the taste of him seemed to awaken her senses she felt charged suddenly and extremely hungry almost starved. She wanted him back in her mouth and she was not pleased to hear him deny her.
"Sweetheart maybe you should take a walk around to burn off some energy." He remembered the first time he and Czar had tasted her essence. He felt like an addict as well he could not get full. He and Czar had sucked her wet and dry so much that night that she had eventually passed out. It never occurred to him he would have the same effect on her. The worst part was even though she had just feasted on him his c**k was throbbing it was like his body was responding to her need. "Cat I need you to pull it together babe because I'm very close to bending you over the table a f*****g the hell out of you."
"Promises promises." She said pouting until a smell hit her nose that made her nearly sick.
"Ogar is here."
"My Goddess he smells worse than a rouge!"
“Wait till he comes in I hope you haven't had lunch.”
Zion was a man of his word he did exactly what was written in the decree. Once business was done and they head back to the packhouse she felt his mood change. She knew why too; Chenoa was right having Blaine here was affecting her relationship with Zion. As soon as his jeep stopped his attitude took a turn for the worse. It was like they never shared the moment they did earlier. She had decided one thing though this was something she was sure of, so she mind linked the entire pack 'hello everyone this is Catori which most of you here no me as or Kaleigha. I will no longer be answering to Kaleigha anymore my name is Catori Knight or Black whichever you prefer but Kaleigha no longer exists. I am Catori and I am the Chosen." With that, she snapped her finger and the rain stopped. Zion looked at her as she walked past him in amazement. He watched her as her hips swayed as she ascended the stairs.
'What are you waiting for.' Czar asked.
Zion didn't even respond he just followed behind as If he had been summoned. When he walked into his room and looked around, he realized not only was she not there nor were her things. He already knew where she was. He didn't bother knocking he kicked the door open. Catori screamed when he walked inside. He saw her belongings and shook his head.
"You are my mate, and you will sleep in my bed, and it is not up for discussion." He growled.
"I am your mate, yet you lay your worries at Janette’s feet." Catori spat out.
"I am your mate, yet you sneak off in the middle of the night with your lover."
"He is not my lover, and you know it Zion you would have felt it so don't play with me!'
"You left in a black dress and returned in his t-shirt."
She was silent "Can you trust me, Zion?"
He took a step back and she took a step forward.
"Please Zion!"
He reached out brushing her hair to the side exposing her mating spot. "Maybe we should take some time apart Catori I mean really apart!"
"You want to reject me?"
"I want to make sure I do what's best for both of us." He dropped his hand and walked away.
In the realm of the heavens
“Why have I been summoned again, father?” Selene asked as she has pulled from her void of nothingness.
“You left out a few details about your Chosen, Selene. And why did you go to such lengths to hide the true identity of the child?”
“Heron has followers still. She didn't stand a chance. The human side of her seems to be stronger than her inner beast. Even when the truth was presented to her, she could not see it for what it was,” She gave a weary sigh. She felt completely defeated, listening to the cries of her children all day was torture.
“So, I stripped her of her powers?”
“When Selene?”
“Time is different in the void father I can’t answer that honestly but her true birthday was nearing, and she was not ready.”
“So, she has no beast and no powers?”
“Yes, father.”
He waved his hand and an iridescent window to the other realm appeared before them.
Her Chosen stood before a she-wolf sucking the life from her without raising a finger
“Impossible” Maui gasped “I was there when Selene took her powers!”
She snapped his finger and they watched Janette’s wheelchair smash into a tree and Janette take flight. He snapped his finger again and they saw the fire she breathed, again he snapped his finger and He saw he snap her finger and the rain stopped, lastly, they saw her transform into a sea creature that resembled that of a mermaid.
Selene smirked, "well that was unexpected it seems my little one is finding her way alone."
“Where are her powers generating from Selene?”
“Within father, she is one with the earth, she is everything, I took her powers and with her being so lost I never thought she would be able to tap into the other abilities. She is generating energy from mother earth.”
“So, are you telling me you created a God, Selene?”
Selene stood silent as everyone around her begin to murmur and shout.
Abomination!
Traitor!
She must be destroyed!
Selene held her head high "I stand by my creation, wrong though I may have been in the way I went about protecting her but I still say she is a good thing!"
“I have spent quite some time watching your other creation Selene, Mundora! I have had little time to focus on your Chosen. Let's see how she handles her. If she can return the souls that Mundora has stolen without guidance I shall let her live.”
“Without guidance father, she does not know what she is!” Selene yelled looking around her frantically.
“Exactly which makes it easier for me to see her true heart and determine if she is a threat in the
Meantime- “
“Emanuel, you have grown soft we understand that she is your daughter but look at the trouble-”
Emanuel snapped, “You speak out of term David!”
Gods stared at each other when David spoke up again “Emanuel I am not alone when I say most of us are not in agreement with the way you have handled this situation!”
“Is that so?”
“It is and we feel maybe it is time you step down.”
“How dare you speak to your creator this way, how dare you?”
“Do you think we wish to do this Maui! Selene gets her stubbornness from Emanuel. We have to destroy that thing before she realizes she is as strong as us!”
“My father is the truth, the way, and the life! Who shall guide these lost souls if he does not? Have you even thought your position out?” Fury began to burn through Maui’s veins her hair began to burn like the sun
“Maui no!” Emanuel spoke but it was too late a ball of fire expelled from her shooting in the direction where the Gods stood against her father.
“I will not fight this fight you are all my children, and you are the leaders I chose to be examples if you cannot lead my sheep they are lost!”
“Emanuel, you can stop this!” David yelled, “just kill the girl!”
“You do not give him orders!” Maui threw another ball of fire in his direction.
It was blocked this time Eragon god of the seas.“This is not our way!”
“It is now,” Maui spoke as she dodged a bolt of lightning thrown at her.
And the heavens divided and the war begin.
