THE AWAKENING OF THE CHOSEN

River, River!" Zion yelled as I saw him heading into the woods. Where the hell was he going? Zion had to find answers. Everything was off and he couldn't quite put his finger on what.

'Oh you know, like I know exactly what it is.' Czar said

‘Not now Czar you have made it clear that your love for our mate is conditional.’ He snapped and snarled at him.

'How dare you pretend that I am the one at fault. You know very well you feel it too. We are one! And while you hide with your tail between your legs our mate is fighting alone. Our mate has no powers, and no wolf! We are failing her.'

Zion saw his father and Lucas called out his name.

He looked back as he waved him over. Czar snarled and Zion felt him push through forcing him into the back. Then darted into the woods.

'WHERE ARE WE GOING?' Zion yelled

'Following the kid! He's the only one that seems to have sense where Our mate is concerned.' Zion ignored the jab at him. He didn't understand that he was between a rock and a hard place. If the girl that he spent the last 3 weeks with was his mate he didn't want to abandon her. Yet he felt nothing when he touched her. So much so he’d overcompensated by spoiling her with gifts trying to get the spark back but like Czar he felt nothing. The worst was if Czar was right. He was a terrible mate. Kaleigha was alone facing who knows what, that thought did something to him.

He spotted River ahead while he was looking around. "River!"

He turned and saw Zion and frowned.

"Why are you here?" He asked with a big attitude. He deserved it. He had come to him with suspicion and he shut him down.

"Looking for answers like you." He gave him a weary look. He didn't believe him.

"Look kid, I love Kat, she is my mate. Let me help." He knew he was looking at his eyes and he'd seen that Czar had taken over. The boy looked pleased.

"I saw her today! She ruffled my hair and everything and she was supposed to come back but my dad-"

"Wait kid what do you mean?"

"Before I came into your room Kali was with me. I know it was her because even though I couldn't see her-"

"You could smell her." Oh s**t! She saw him with.... with that girl!

"You smelled her too?" River asked and Zion nodded.

"I tracked her scent here and then it disappeared." Zion ran past him sniffing. He smelled it faintly. Where are you, baby? Czar howled in misery. Suddenly in the distance the sky lit up

Colors of red, orange and blue. He ran toward the light and when we reached the clearing he saw her, his mate was falling from the heavens. He ran catching her before she hit the ground. "Oh Kali, Kali, Kali baby please open your eyes please baby open your eyes." He didn't care how he looked at that moment as he held onto her. He just knew he needed her to be alive. "Kali, please say something. NOOOOO!"Zion cried out to the heavens moon Goddess if you bring her back to me I will never fail her again. He held her in his arms crying and suddenly her back arched and she inhaled deeply.

"Kali baby please say something." She looked at him and pushed herself away from him.

"Kali!" River knelt beside her and she smiled ruffling her fingers through his hair.

"Hey Buddy." She said and he wrapped his arms around her. Her head turned and their eyes met. He saw joy briefly then pain as she looked away.

"Kali!" Zion began but she shook her head as she leaned on River to stand.

"I ....I...." she began.

"Yes my-"

"I Catori Legend of the Silver Crescent Moon pack rej-" before she could finish the sentence he had my hand over her mouth.

"Please don't Kat, I swear I will die a thousand times." He was not one to display weakness but the thought of losing her. It would break him.

"I saw you with her. Zion I saw you kissing her." Tears sprang to her eyes as she said, "you hurt me."

He felt like someone ripped his heart out. The last thing he ever wanted to do was hurt her.

"Kali I didn't know, she looks just like you!" He pleaded but she still pushed him away. Czar was fighting him to get out.

"I felt it though in my heart." She looked at him for just a moment and he saw the softness there but just as quickly her eyes hardened again.

"You said you had love for only me. You let her touch you. How many times have you slept with her?" She demanded.

"None I swear love. I tried but I couldn't, Czar he knew before me and he would never betray you."

"But you would have!"

"No Kali I love you."

"I'm not sure I'm interested in that kind of love Zion! I want to talk to Czar!" He was crushed but he nodded and fell back.

"Kitten!" She ran and jumped in his arms. Kissing him passionately. In case anyone is curious it is very possible to be jealous of your wolf. He could hear River saying to someone, "Who are you?"

"I'm Chastity, I'm with her."

"I don't think they're going to stop." River said in a worried voice.

"Um no...oh she lost her shirt." Somehow he knew she was blushing.

"We should look away." River said.

"I've never seen the mating process go this far."

'CZAR! Control yourself!' He growled at the interruption.

"I was so afraid I was never going to see you again." Czar said as he nuzzled his nose against her neck kissing her mating spot.

"Thank you baby for knowing."

"She couldn't fool me. I know exactly what my Kitten tastes like." He kissed her soft lips.

"I missed you my love."

He tugged at her pants and she stepped back saying.

"Later right now we have pertinent business to deal with." She kissed the tip of his nose.

'Oh you think you're so smooth!' Zion said to Czar.

'I got the girl didn't I.' Zion said nothing because he felt the son of a b***h was right.

She slid down "Lead the way." Czar said, tapping her on the behind.

"My pleasure." She hissed but as she walked in front of him and her hips swayed and her bottom bounced he couldn't help but think the pleasure is all mine.

"Who's the witch babe?" Czar asked as his eyes fell on her.

"Chastity, this is my Mate Zion’s.other half Czar. Chastity is my savior if it wasn't for her kindness I would not be here." Kaleigha said.

"Thank you, I am eternally grateful to you. You will always find refuge from this day forward with the Mystic Moon Pack." Her eyes turned a little watery as she said thank you. She was a very small framed girl with big green eyes and freckles scattered across her nose and cheeks, just like his mate, her hair hanging down her pack. She looked like a kid no older than River.

"So are we just going to act like we didn't see Kali fall from the sky?" River yelled.

"Buddy there is an impostor here. She gets taken care of first. Thank you though for knowing."

Another jab at Zion, Czar laughed at him and he rolled his eyes. 'I guess you can handle things from here.' Czar said giving me complete control.

"How are we going to handle this?" Zion asked his mate and she said nothing, she just kept walking.

"Kat you're not planning on killing her are you?" She turned glaring at him.

"Would you be hurt if I did?" Hurt no he wouldn't but....actually... he was conflicted. He saw the hurt in her eyes.

"Kat, she is your sister." She growled at him

"Sisters, don't set you up for your enemy."

"I'm sure there is more to it than that." Czar was cracking up. Then it clicked. 'You set me up, Czar. You knew I'd have to be the bad guy and intervene. I can't let her kill her sister! She will regret it later.' Again Czar laughs.

'I know that and you know that but I sure did not want to be the one convincing her of such.'

Then the witch spoke up "he is right Chenoa has a warped mind. Maximus started using dark magic a long time ago to control her."

"So she can't think for herself?" Kat snapped and the witch practically shrunk. She immediately realized what she did and apologized.

"Chastity please forgive me I'm a little on edge. This is not the reunion I pictured." They came to the clearing in the back of the pack house.

"It's okay no biggie." The witch said, smiling weakly. Kat reached out and hugged her and the poor girl looked confused. Like she had never been hugged.

We rounded the house and to our surprise her Sister was walking out of the pack house.

"Leaving so soon, Chenoa?" Kat asked.

Her face showed no emotion.

"Well dear sister, long time no see." Chenoa said, stepping down the steps so she was now standing in front of Kat.

"Don't call me Sister, you are no sister of mine. " Kat spat out. Chenoa was about to respond when her eyes fell on the witch. Now I saw so many emotions flash through those eyes. First shock, happiness, sadness and finally envy.

"You found your heart." Chenoa said to her.

"It was never lost. I knew where it was, I just couldn't open it. Never had a friend brave enough to do it for me. Until I met your sister." Those words seemed to affect her.

"Father will not be pleased. You both should give up now while you're ahead."

"You call the man father that killed your father and mother wow. You weren't kidding she is f****d up in the head." Kat said.

"You better watch your tongue."

"b***h f**k you!" Kat said, kicking her in the chest. Chenoa fell back but bounced back up and the ladies began circling each other. Chenoa came charging at Kat landing several punches. Kat dodged most but a few connected. This went on for only about a minute. Chenoa was a good fighter. Zion got the impression she was just warming up too. Then Chenoa got cocky she went to kick Kat but Kat did a move Zion never saw before she blocked the kick knocking her off balance and somehow landing on top of her with her arm behind her back. Chenoa screamed and whimpered when he realized the block had broken her leg and now Kat had her arm up so far it was close to breaking.

"Kat!"

"Shut up Zion!" She snapped as she pulled and the arm snapped.

She shoved her face down on the dirt as she spoke to her.

"You will not die today Sister, but if you ever touch my mate again!" She hissed "I will taste your blood." She grabbed a handful of her hair and slammed her face into the ground.

"Take her to the dungeons!" She yelled and two of my warriors grabbed Chenoa by the shoulder to pull her up.

She let out a painful cry as they pulled on her now broken arm. They dragged her along as she struggled to keep up hopping on her good leg.

"You did the right thing Kat." She turned and glared at Zion.

"Of course you would thank me for not killing your girlfriend." She spat out. Pack members were whispering because they had never seen anyone talk to their Alpha that way. He didn't care he was wrong, she could be mad as long as she wanted as long as she knew she was his. Rather she liked it or not.

His father pushed his way through the crowd. "What in the hell is going on?" He demanded.

"Dad calm down. Kat's sister has been impersonating her for the past three weeks." Zion explained to him. His mother stepped forward studying him "and you couldn't tell?" He looked away because he knew she was recalling all the times she saw them together. She cut her eyes at him. "How are you Dear? Who held you captive?"

"He called himself the rogue King." Kat said.

"Maximus." My parents said in unison.

"You know him." Chastity asked.

"Know him? I banished him and for good reason. If he is behind this then there is more trouble to come." Lucas looked concerned.

"Everyone to the meeting hall for a town meeting." His mother said.

Everyone started to head in the direction of the meeting hall. A few moments later his father stood in front of the entire pack.

"Members of the Mystic Moon Pack as you know over the past several weeks surrounding territories have been under attack. The numbers of Rogues are growing rapidly. It has been reported that the Alpha's are being purposely targeted. I stand before you today to say Mystic Moon will not fall! We will fight for this land and our territory. We have been a kind pack offering assistance to our neighbors when in need. Now will be no different I suspect a lot of rogues will be seeking refuge here." The pack members began to murmur amongst themselves. Finally someone spoke up. A woman in a yellow dress. "We never had these problems before!" They were looking at Kaleigha.

"How will we survive if there is already a shortage of food as is?" Someone else yelled.

"Our crops are dying and rogues have been stealing our livestock!" Another said.

"Silence!" My father said in his Alpha tone. "I know you are afraid but I have never led you wrong. I ask you now to trust me." The mumbling began again.

"Will you stand with me?" His father asked. The majority of the crowd yelled out their support. There were a few who stood silently. Zion found this funny because we were the strongest pack in the region. Unless they planned on moving very far away this is their best chance at survival.

"Very well now this opportunity is well overdue. Recently my son met his mate and although the mating process has not been completed I would still like to officially make your future Luna a part of the pack." Now someone yelled "Our troubles began when she showed up!" Someone yelled.

"How come we can't have Emoni as a Luna she can fight!" The elderly woman yelled.

Zion had had enough "Apparently none of you made it to the last town hall meeting. I stated then you are for my mate or against her. And if you are not for her, get the hell out. It's one less mouth to feed. How dare you question the choice the Moon Goddess made! If she were here would you be so bold to state your grievances? Please don't mistake my kindness for weakness. Also you have not been well informed because Emoni and five or her friends took my mate on with no wolf and she still stood. There is nothing weak about the Mate the Goddess gave me and if you cherish your life-" He was so angry he was shaking. Then he felt her hand touch his arm. He instantly began to calm.

"I agree with my son and stand beside him 100 percent. With that being said David my chalice." David, his father's Beta, handed him the cup and he sliced his hand letting his blood fall into the cup. Then he passed the knife to Kaleigha. Kaleigha looked at him for reassurance. She took the knife and cut her hand allowing her blood to mix with Lucas’s.

"I Alpha Lucus Black of the Mystic Moon pack welcomes Kaleigha Pinkney to the Mystic Moon Pack. Kaleigha do you promise to honor and protect your fellow pack members with your life?"

Kaleigha looked like a deer caught in the headlights. She leaned over and whispered in Lucas' ear. He smiled at her and said "I Alpha Lucas Black of the Mystic Moon Pack welcome Catori Knight of Silver Crescent Moon pack. Catori Knight do you promise to honor and protect your fellow pack members using your powers for good and never evil." He said. She bowed and said "I Catori Knight accept your offer."

She drank the blood and her hair began to glow. He could not have been more proud. Kaleigha felt a surge and suddenly she could hear the whispers of every pack member. She felt at one with them all, connected. They were now officially her family.

"Three cheers for Mystic Moon future Luna!" Someone yelled and the crowd went bananas! Because of her heat she had not been able to really associate with many of the members. Now she walked off the stage greeting them with thank you, handshakes and hugs. "Now if my son can manage to get it together maybe there will be grandbabies in the future!"

"Mom!" Zion said, rolling his eyes as he searched the crowd for his mate. He saw her talking to Cortes, one of the warriors. He was known for his womanizing. He growled when she laughed at something he said. He was next to her in seconds pulling her close to him. "Mine." He growled as his eyes turned red. He looked at Zion and back at Kaleigha. "Chill Zion, Cortes just offered to show me around and I said yes." What! Oh hell no! he knew she was pissed but this s**t was not going down! "Kat I don't feel comfortable with you walking around the grounds without me." He was trying to play it cool but he was seconds away from ripping his head off.

"That sounds like a personal problem Zion. Oh, are you upset? Well go tell your girlfriend about it. She tied up with nothing better to do. Besides," she wrapped her arm through Cortes "I'm sure this big strong man can handle me." Zion went to grab him but Kevin grabbed his arm.

"Zion, she is trying to get under your skin and you're letting her." Zion was fuming with all my might. He stormed off in the other direction. Away from prying ears and eyes he let out a frustrated growl.

"Quit acting like a b***h man. Kali Kool Kat can pretend all she wants but rather she likes it or not you are the only one that can make her feel complete." Kevin assured him. He was breathing in and out heavily. Kevin patted him on the back.

"Love sucks."

"No s**t!" He turned and looked at Kevin. He still had not found his mate and here he was. Complaining about the blessing he was given.

"Sorry man, you're right. One day you will find your mate too and-"

"I have Zion." He said simply.

"What! Who?"

"Doesn't matter she will definitely reject me." He said sadly.

"You're kidding Kevin right? You are cool as hell man and any girl would be lucky to have you."

"Zion man, it's complicated."

"Kevin, you're my best friend, talk to me." He looked away "Soon."

He nodded then Dr. Arden mind linked me saying Tabatha was awake. He was happy it gave him a reason to mind link Kat 'Kat, hate to interrupt your date but Tabatha is awake.' He knew she heard although she didn't reply.

"Wanna come with me to check on the kid." Kevin looked away again and then said "No I got better things to do then hang out with some kid."

"Alpha duty." Zion said and he nodded his understanding. He was walking toward the pack hospital when Kevin ran up beside him. "I guess I have a few minutes. I was thinking maybe afterwards I could use a drink."

"Hell yeah!"

Guessing Kat heard me because he saw her and Cortesr pulling up as he arrived. He didn't even look her way he was pissed that she was playing stupid games. He walked in and went to Tabatha's room. Dr. Arden was checking her vitals.

Kaleigha rushed past him and rushed to her bed they both hugged. Tabatha looked at Zion and then Kevin. "Are you okay? I was worried about you." Kat was saying but Tabatha just looked out of it. Then River came rushing in. He went to her bed and hugged her. Tabatha looked at Chastity and asked "who is she?"

"We are now the four amigo's." River joked as he slid on the other side sandwiching her between he and Kat.

"Hi I'm Chastity." The witch said standing close to the doorway.

"How old are you?" Kevin asked her and she answered.

“18 I think.” He must have been bored because he started being super chatty with the witch.

Which Zion got because this was a bit much for him as well.

"So Tabatha, how are you feeling?" Zion went straight to because that f*****g drink was calling him.

"I feel okay, just a little groggy."

"You should be fine in a few days." Dr. Arden was saying to her.

"Cool well I will check on you tomorrow. Glad you're back with us."

He turned to leave and he could feel Kaleighas eyes on him but he ignored it. "Dr Arden keep me posted."

"Ready for that drink, man?" Kevin asked on his way out.

"You bet your ass I am."

The club was jumping and it was usually not his scene, but IZion was on his third drink. Several humans and she wolves had approached him but he was not in the mood to dance. Although Kevin was clearly enjoying himself. He had three girls all over him and was clearly drunk.

"Hey hot stuff mind if I have a seat." He was just about to say no when he looked up and saw his cousin Amber.

"Amber!" He grabbed her in a hug.

"Still big and strong I see." She rubbed his muscular arms as she teased. He flexed his arms for her.

"Boy bye you no I can still kick your ass!" She laughed, throwing her head back. She pulled a chair up beside him and he brought her a drink. One turned into two and two into four and before you knew it they were all f****d up.

For once his mind was not on Kat as they all laughed and talked about when they were pups.

"I think we will be walking back tonight." he pointed out because the club was closing and no'one was capable of driving.

"Yeah you're right about that!" Kevin said and they all left walking toward the pack house.

"I'm not sleepy Zion. Let's Netflix and chill for the rest of the night." She said jumping on my back.

“I’m down.” We all went for the kitchen and raided the fridge.

Kevin had a girl in his lap and one on his arm. The one in his lap was feeding him ice cream with her finger and every time it slid down his cheek the one on his arm would lick it up with her tongue. Amber was on the table dancing as his Gamma Michael beat on the table as if he was playing drums to some song in his head. His cousin Amber was quite the party girl. They stayed in lots of trouble because of her as pups. She was always with them because the other she wolves were always jealous of her. She had beautiful flawless brown skin. Her hair was shoulder length and curly just like Zions. She had a small frame but was curvy as hell so Zion stayed fighting for his little cousin. Zion was howling and whistling at Amber until she started twerking. He grabbed her leg and she fell in my arms. "You are doing entirely too much." said to her but Michael cheered her on.

"I'm a big girl, Zion." She pouted.

"Yeah, she is a big girl," Michael said and he cut my eyes at him.

"Not a chance buddy, This girl is waiting on her mate." Zion tossed her over his shoulder and headed toward the west wing where his room was.

"Are we still good for Netflix?" A very drunk Amber asked, "If you don't put me down soon I'm going to puke all over your back." Zion slapped her behind and she squeaked "Zion that hurt. You're going to get it!" He opened the door to his room and walked in dumping her on the bed then went to piss. By the time he came out Amber was snoring. He pulled a cover over her and took the couch.
