THE AWAKENING OF THE CHOSEN

Janette's return

Zion had just made it back from his run when Kevin told him Janette was a few minutes away Zion and Kevin stood outside as the van pulled into the driveway. Kevin walked over and opened the door. "Hi Janette, we missed you! How was your trip?" Kevin asked as he began to remove her wheelchair.

"Oh,, it was great. My aunt has met her mate after all these years, and she waited for him this whole time and he for her. I am so happy they found each other." Janette was so excited she was practically bubbling with joy.

"I'm so happy to hear this Janette and I missed you so much," Zion said as she unbuckled her seatbelt. He reached in and picked her up. Kaleigh had been sleeping so as she stretched out, she reached for her mate finding Zion was gone. She was disappointed to find that he had returned to her. She stood to go to the restroom but as she walked by the window, she saw Zion holding a woman against his body. The woman had her arms around his neck. "Mine." She whispered in confusion as she rubbed her eyes to make sure she was seeing things correctly. Zion placed her in her chair and then he touched her leg. The heat hit her like a wave. "Who the f**k is this slut! How dare he touch her so intimately."

Zion was so happy to see Janette "I can't wait to tell you about my mate."

"Oh,, you found her! I'm so excited for you Zion." She reached over and hugged him.

"Oh Janette, your sandal strap has come undone." He reached down to secure the strap when suddenly her wheelchair zipped away full speed. Zion was stunned but he quickly sprang into action as Janette’s scream seemed to snap him out of his daze. Zion was running full force using his wolf speed trying to get to Janette. Kevin was still standing in shock. One moment Janette was there and the next she was rolling away so fast you could see the smoke come from the wheels of the chair. He wasn't sure what made him look up, but he did. Kali Kool Kat's eyes had started to glow. Kevin ran, taking the steps two at a time.

Zion saw the tree, so he lunged forward and grabbed Janette just in time. Pulling her from the chair she fell into him knocking him off balance they both fell, and she landed on top of him.

Kevin tackled Kaleigha, also landing on top of her. "Kali stop she is just a friend, Kali, Kali!" Kevin noticed her eyes were still red but it was her temperature that concerned him. "Goddess you're burning up." But she could not hear him, so she shoved him off and went back to the window only to see the woman draped over her mate. At this point, it was like she glitched. She pushed her hand out and upward. Suddenly Janette was snatched from Zion's arms and went soaring into the air. 'Zion!' Kevin, mind linked him as he saw Janette go flying upwards.

'Not now Kevin!' Zion ran chasing behind Janette. Again, Kevin tackled Kali but this time it was different her eyes had turned completely back. She was burning up. He grabbed her as he looked in her eyes. It was like she was gone, nothing there. He gathered her and ran to the bathroom, placing her in the tub. He turned the cold shower and placed the plugin so the tub would fill. "Kali, Kali! Luna, can you hear me?" Kevin splashed water on her face, but she was only getting hotter.

Zion barely caught Janette as she dropped from the sky. She was hysterical, shaking and crying. He picked her up and ran with her back into the packhouse.

Kevin watched as the bathroom began to steam up and the water began to boil. "What the f**k!" He was freaking out now 'Zion!'

'Kevin, f**k I need you to handle what-'

'Your mate is on fire!' Kevin yelled.

Zion froze then he bolted. Leaving Janette still totally confused. Zion came sliding into the bathroom and nearly fell because the floor was wet. His temper nearly exploded when his eyes saw his mate in her bra and panties as Kevin leaned over her. "Get the f**k away from her!" He dropped to his knees beside her as his mate was completely engulfed in water. He reached for her, but Kevin grabbed his hand. "Alpha the water is boiling!" He warned him as now the bathroom had a fog so thick, they could only see each other because they were side by side. Zion could hear him, but he didn't care he growled in pain as he reached in, grabbed her arms pulling her face above water. "Kali baby please! Kali please I love you."

"Zion, she saw you with Janette!" Kevin explained, Zion was confused but then a light bulb went off. "My love there will never be another as you. My heart, my soul, my body belongs to you. She is only a friend. I would never hurt you or betray you Kitten, you have to know that. Suddenly she arched her back and growled and fire literally shot out of her mouth she then collapsed back into the boiling water. The water stopped boiling and Zion pulled her from the water and held her to him. "Kali wake up please." He cried.

"I'll get the doctor!" Kevin said, running from the room.

She slept for 2 days, and Zion spent the entire time pacing the floor. He was a nervous wreck. Janette came rolling into the room in her new chair. "Zion how is she?" Zion went stiff at the sound of her voice. He had completely forgotten Janette. "You can't be here Janette; she might hear your voice." She nodded and backed out. Zion pulled a chair up beside Kaleigha holding her hand and he lay his head on her stomach. He closed his eyes for only a moment when he found himself outside in a wooded area that did not look like a part of his territory. He searched his surroundings when he saw her, but she was not alone.

Blaine had to call Vanessa numerous times, but she refused to tell him where Kaleigha lived or any further information regarding her. It was his book of spells that led him to her. The book held its own magic and after clarifying with his mom that it was not in her possession, he began a tracking spell. This led him to her house, and he could tell the book was here at some point but now it was gone, however, he now had a closer connection to Kaleigha. He was able to tap into her energy using a temporary bonding spell.

Kaleigha had been wandering the woods in circles. It was the land where her family had once lived. She was enjoying reliving her memories of her mother and father. Usually, she was not alone, Chenoa was there and Khrisna as well. Khrisna who always came to an end. The same way an arrow through the heart. Always as she Looked into his eyes. His eyes were so similar to….

"Blaine, how did you get here?" Kali asked as he gathered her into a hug.

"Leigh! I have been searching everywhere for you."

She smiled at him as she looked into his eyes.

"Your eyes Blaine, they remind me of someone I once knew."

"Leigh, we have to talk. I'm not sure how long this spell will last, but I have to know what you are Leigh?"

"What do you mean?"

"Leigh, you are not like others. I need you to call me when you wake. I think I have the answers." It was then that he grabbed her chin and he leaned in to kiss her. The moment his lips touched hers she snapped out of it pushing him away. "No Blaine, I don't think this … are we dreaming?" She was confused but she did remember what she allowed him to do to her during the last dream. She was also aware she had a mate. She could feel his erection pressing against her.

He leaned in and ran his fingers through her hair.

"Leigh, does it matter as long as we are together. I have thought of nothing but you since our last encounter. Leigh, I think you are meant for me I feel it in my core."

Kaleigha stared at him like a deer caught in the headlights. Oh, s**t she thought Blaine is in love with me. Although she felt something for him it was not right. Something was off that she could not explain "Can I have you Leigh?"

The growl made her suddenly realize that she was in a compromising position. Blain had one hand wrapped around her waist and the other wrapped in her hair. He held her so close she could smell his minty breath and she was again quite aware of his erection pressing into her stomach.

"Zion." She said as he morphed into his wolf and charged Blaine. Blaine did not back down. He took a defensive stance and then suddenly he charged back. "No!" Kaleigha screamed when suddenly her body jerked, and she sat up in her bed. Zion sat up glaring at her. Before she could gather her thoughts, Zion was in her face "Who the f**k was that?" He demanded to know, "and why the f**k was he so close to you Kali."

"Zion how did you… how are you guys entering my dreams? Is nothing just mine anymore."

"That was not a f*****g dream Kali."

She bit her lip. "Can you not call me that?" He never called her Kali. From day one he had never called her that and to hear her name on his lips was totally stressing her out.

He sniffed and backed away. Tears came from his eyes. "Zion, what's wrong? He is just a friend."

"Then why do I smell your want?" His words made her flush with embarrassment. How was she supposed to respond to that? He gave her a look of hurt and disdain as he backed out of the room.

"Zion don't go." She said but it was too late he ran off leaving her in the hospital bed. She was ashamed because as much as she loved Zion, she could feel the wetness between her legs. Blaine was right she wanted him.

"Luna, you're awake! I will get the doctor."

"No, I'm fine, can you please just help me into the shower."

"You really should see the doctor first; you have been sleeping for 2 days."

Kaleigha looked at her in shock "2 days!" She saw her eyes glaze over and knew she was talking to someone.

"Yes, Luna I just let Zion know your awake he has been by your side the entire time. I can't believe he is not here."

Dr. Arden came strolling in and she looked her over. "You're awake wonderful you gave us quite the scare. How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, I would like to shower." The doctor began to check her vitals. "Kaleigha, do you remember what happened?"

"No, not really."

"You saw Zion with Janette. Clearly you misunderstood the relationship because you tried to kill her. You got so upset you overheated and passed out." As she spoke Zion reappeared behind her. It was then that she noticed the bandages on his arms.

"What happened to your arms?"

"You happened Kali." He said simply. She was confused as she tried to get closer by sliding off the bed. "No honey you just woke up you need to take it easy." The doctor instructed but she tuned her out. All she could see was her mate physically and mentally hurting. She needed to touch him, “Zion please." He was torn after what he had witnessed earlier but he could feel her pain and distress. "Please love please." He knew then if he did not come to her, she would to him, so he eased toward her bed. She reached for his hands, and he flinched at her touch. "I did this?"

He leaned forward and their heads touched. It was then that she saw him reach into the boiling water and suddenly she saw herself as a child and remembered her mother with bandages and she just knew then what had happened. Why had her mother never told her she had inflicted the pain? She began to remove his bandages. "Luna, I don't think-" Dr Arden tried speaking but her voice was gone. Zion watched her as she looked at his skin. Raw nearly to the bone "it will heal fast it already looks better than yesterday."

Tears ran down her eyes as she saw what she had done to her love. She grabbed both hands and began to hum. Heat started to generate between them, and Zion skin slowly began to return to its natural form.

"Zion I am sorry baby." He wanted to grab her, but it was hard to focus because he could still smell the scent of another on her. He stepped back out of her reach. "Thank you, get yourself cleaned up and we will talk." He turned and left as soon as he left, she looked at Doctor Arden "open your mouth." She looked confused as hell, but she opened her mouth. Kaleigha produced an orb in the palm of her hand. She placed it in her mouth and the doctor swallowed it.

"Do not tell me when I can or cannot touch my mate. He is mine, do you understand?"

"Yes Luna, sorry." She nodded at Dr. Arden and then looked at her nurse

"Shower." After seeing such a display of power, the nurse did not hesitate. She quickly came to her aid.

Zion was so confused as he sat in his office across from his mother and father. His Beta was there as well as Dr. Arden.

"Kevin, are you sure?" Alpha Lucas asked.

"Yes, she waved her hand upward and Janette went flying into the air. It was Kali but, I don't think she was in control. I think it was her wolf."

"But Kali does not have a wolf." Luna Rochelle said, "Are you saying she has been lying to us."

"No, I'm saying maybe seeing him with another was too much for her, so her wolf took over. Maybe this is why she does not remember when these things happen. Her eyes were red and then they turned black I'm telling you her wolf is in there and she has quite the f*****g temper."

Zion bit down on his lip. He was pissed about earlier but it did please him to know his mate was jealous of him. He felt terrible for poor Janette. She was scared shitless.

"And the water you said was so hot it was boiling yet she was not burned." Lucas asked

"Yes, but she healed my hands." Zion chimed in.

"Dr. Arden, what do you make of all this?"

"She took my voice?" A tight-lipped Dr. Arden responded

"What?" Zion frowned at her.

"When we were in her room, and I tried to tell her not to remove your bandages she took my voice. I couldn't speak and when you left, she gave it back but warned me not to ever tell her she couldn't touch you. She took my voice!'

"Okay everyone calm down let's just put this all together. Is there anything you would like to add Zion."

"She pulled me into her dream. When she was sleeping, I don't think it was the first time it happened. I thought it was my ability as the Chosen a way to… home in on her whereabouts but now." He ran his fingers through his curly hair. "Now I think she was homing in on mine."

"What are you saying son?" Lucas asked.

"The silver crescent moon pack has been known for their exceptional abilities."

"Mom, come on it's more than that!"

"Her scent when she went in heat you could smell from miles away, she gets pissed and literally breathes f*****g fire, she can withstand boiling water-

"Make people take flight." Kevin chimed in.

"Take down a trained warrior with no training of her own." Lucas leaned forward stating.

"Heal a cat and give it youth."

"I have strength, speed, yet limited abilities." Zion said

"The Chosen has one weakness, his mate, that is when he reaches his full potential. The Moon Goddess protected you because you are equally important but-" Dr. Arden looked around the room before she continued. "It makes sense the marks on her symbolizing air and fire. Zion you are not the Chosen she is."

"Impossible the Chosen is always a male!" Lucas declared.

"Until his birth was threatened." Rochelle pointed out.

"What do you mean?"

"Oh, come on Lucas the child was in jeopardy. Everything held in the balance. If Zion was killed, she would still be one to be reckoned with. He still has not mated or marked her. Imagine how powerful she will be. The Gods were scared!"

"God's! There is but one Selene!"

"You know she did not send that decree down, if so, why go through hell to protect Zion and change her very own design. She had the council running around chasing their tails." She suddenly burst into laughter "fools all along they were chasing a male Lycan when she was right under their nose." They have been harassing families for years only to find that he is she. Legend says she will have many names, she will be all-powerful. Well, so how does it feel to be the first male Lycan mated to the first female Chosen?"

Zion thought her words over and sat back in his chair. He remembered her dream and the man that stood holding her. "I will feel better when we are mated, and she is marked and mine forever."

Kaleigha hadn't used her cell phone in forever, but she had to find out who she was. What did Blaine know? She pulled her silver hair back into a ponytail just as Chenoa and the others came peaking in her room.

Tabatha ran and gave her a hug "how are you feeling Kaleigha?"

"Kali what happened?" River said, standing back away from her bed. She could sense he was still angry.

Chastity watched as she slid her boots on. "Where are you going, Catori?"

"Shut the door, I need you all to listen." Chenoa looked concerned as she rushed to the door.

"What is it, sister?" She asked sitting beside her on the bed so she could be eye to eye.

"Chenoa, something is not right with me. I need to know what it is. Someone has the answers. I'm leaving you guys here if Zion finds out I left he will be pretty pissed but I need answers. I need you to be me, so he won't suspect, and I need you guys to help. Everyone but you Chastity I need your help getting off the grounds unseen."

"I'll do whatever you need."

"Good give her my scent, Chastity. As long as he does not touch you, he won't know he just needs to catch my scent occasionally."

"The last time Kali he was pissed." River said nervously "what if he uses his alpha tone."

"Then so be it. Tell the truth you will have no choice."

"And what is the truth?" Tabatha asked.

Kaleigha said nothing at first then finally she sighed "I went to see Blaine."

"Who is Blaine?”

"Trust he will know."

Blaine could not get back to her, so he knew she had to be awake now he needed to get to her. Who the f**k was that guy and why was he in her dream? He paced back and forth waiting for her to call the number, still not completely convinced that he wasn't imagining the whole thing. Then his cell rang. "Where can we meet?"

"Your house I'm already here." He said he had many questions, but he would wait until he saw her. She was driving him crazy; he just wanted to be with her.

Chastity was always ready to do whatever Kaleigha asked. After all, she saved her, she told her to hop on and off they went. Janette thought she would never get used to seeing witches flying through the air, but she was sure of one thing: she preferred the ground. She was standing by her window watching Chastity and her new Luna as Zion knocked at her door. "Zion!"

"Are you okay?" He went to reach for her but stopped himself. He looked embarrassed as he realized he was afraid to show her affection.

"It's okay, I understand."

"It's not Janette but I need to protect all my pack members and until my mate is marked and more secure in our union, I think it's best to keep all females at a distance, but I wanted to check on you before I went to the hospital to see her."

"Oh, I think you may be late."

"What do you mean?"

"She just flew away on a broom."

"Are you sure it was her?'' he slid past her to peer out her window.

"Unless she has a twin." Janette said jokingly. Zion rushed past her, and he forgot how long it had been since Janette had been gone.

"Hey, I will be back to check on you later okay" with that he rushed out of her room heading for the pack hospital. He mind linked Michael.

'Did you leave Chenoa unattended Michael?'

'No alpha is something wrong?'

'One of them has left the grounds again without permission. I'm about to get to the bottom of it.' he mind link River 'Are you with the girls?'

'No, I just left the hospital Chastity, and I am going over some spell work with my dad?'

He broke the link and connected with Kevin 'Kevin is your mate with you?'

'yeah, she just walked in.'

'Um hm ask her where is Kali and Chenoa'

"Tabatha, where is your crew?"

"Oh, there around. Why what's up?"

'She says they're around, but she is lying, she bites her lip when she is lying.'

'Great, keep an eye on her.’

‘Can't keep an eye off her.' He moaned painfully. Kevin was having a time waiting for Tabatha to turn 18 but he refused to touch her until then.

"What are you wearing kid!" Kevin moaned as he glanced at her. She crossed her arms ``Oh don't start with me Kevin, you don't want it, but you refuse to let anyone else have me."

"Your damn right kid you belong to me!" Kevin was shouting at her now.

"Oh yeah!'

"Yeah!"

"Then prove it!" She pulled her dress over her head and was not standing before him in just her panties and hands-on hips. He quickly snatched the dress off the ground and ran to cover her.

"No Kevin!" She said, throwing her arms around him.

"Woman, you better stop it before my wolf takes over." She had jumped into his arms and had wrapped her legs around his waist "Take me, Kevin!"

"Goddess!" He struggled to push her away. Finally, he shoved her so hard she landed on the floor with a thud.

"Baby are you okay?"

"Don't touch me!" She screamed and she burst into tears.

"Tabatha, I can't do this with you until you're at least 18 don't you get that?"

"No! You're my mate, you should want me. You have no problem bedding your whores!" She stood up and snatched her dress "just reject me!" She said running into the bathroom and slamming the door.

"Fine damn it fine if that's what you want. Kevin DeMarcus, the beta of the Mystic Moon Pack, rejects Tabatha Burns as my mate." Saying the words crushed him but he could not keep going through this. He heard the bathroom door open, and she walked out with her head down.

"I... I didn't think you would actually do it." She ran past him and out the door.

"Tabatha wait!"

"No Kevin I'm not your mate anymore you rejected me." She snatched her arm away and ran.

"What the f**k did I just do." Tabatha ran outside and shifted and ran off into the woods.

Zion walked to the hospital room and as he suspected, Chenoa and Catori were nowhere to be seen. 'Michael call your Mate I want her in my office now!'

'Tabatha!'

'Yes Alpha'

'My office now!'

'River you and Chasity in my office now!'

A few minutes later Kevin was knocking on his door. "Zion, I done something stupid. f**k f**k f**k!" But before he could explain River and Tabatha came in followed by Michael and Chenoa"

"Where is Chenoa and the witch?"

"Kaleigha why don't you go have a seat on the alpha lap. It's a little crowded here. Michael knew very well it was Chenoa he was speaking to. Although she had her sister's scent, and they were identical he knew his mate without touching her. She bore his mark when he was near her; his nature always began to rise. According to his erection there was no way that was his Luna. He said this in a mind link to Kevin and his alpha. Chenoa shared a look with Tabatha.

'Why does Tabatha look like a train wreck? And why aren't you trying to figure out why?'

‘Because I am the reason why Alpha I rejected her.'

'Perfect shall we test my theory.' Before either man could reply he reached over and brushed Tabatha's hair away from her face. "Are you okay, beautiful?" Before he could respond all hell broke loose. Chenoa's wolf came forward and went for Tabatha's throat. Kevin dove over a chair and went for Michael.

"You son of a b***h how dare you touch her!" Kevin was furious and Zion struggled to hold him back. River stood in front of Tabatha, her wolf did not stand a chance against Anika, Chenoa's wolf.

Michael grabbed his mate "Stop it! You're the one that started this game."

"Mine!" Her wolf growled at him.

"Then act like it, have not had enough of pretending to be his? Do I not satisfy you?" Michael glared at her

"Yes, my love I'm sorry I was only trying to help Catori."

"Help Catori what?" Zion asked as he held his beta in a headlock. Still struggling with his wolf.

They were all quiet and this angered him. "WHERE IS MY MATE!" ZION ROARED IN HIS ALPHA TONE

"BLAINE!" Tabatha was the first to say and now Zion eyes grew black with fury.
