Time apart. What does that even mean, Catori thought as she paced back and forth?

‘It means he is over your indecisive ass’

Catori froze, taking several deep breaths. She was afraid to say anything because she couldn’t handle it if it was her imagination. She stood clutching her chest. Was it possible? ‘Aira?’

'The one and only, b***h!'

'But how?’

'Well, that's simple you called I came.'

'I called you a thousand times!'

'No, that b***h Kaleigha called me a thousand times. I am not her wolf, I belong to Catori the Chosen. In case you can't tell, I DONT f**k WITH HER!'

Catori began to laugh hysterically, and the tears began to fall.

'Suck it up doll, I have I bone to pick with you!'

Catori was trying to take everything in. She could not believe Azira was back.

'Why have you not allowed our mate to mark you?'

Catori went stiff 'Can I not take time to get to know him?’

Azira hissed and Catori then noticed a hawk landing on her balcony. It was the eyes that drew her to open the sliding doors door “Lanunda!”

‘Hello Catori, I see you have finally awakened. Welcome back Chosen’

‘Thank you Lanunda I never thought I would see you again.'

‘Yoooohooo back to me. You are not human Catori, yet you still hold on to human ways of thinking! Your mate is your other half, specifically designed just for you. What is there to think about?’

‘Azira, Azira, welcome back! I know you wish to consummate your union, but we have more pressing matters!’ Lanunda practically barked.

‘Back off Lanunda. Do you know how long it’s been since I had s*x?’

‘Azira, the heavens are at war! You know what that means?’

‘All the more reason, I need to be at full strength and the power is in the p***s!’

‘Azira!’ Catori blushed. She had nearly forgotten how blunt she could be.

‘Oh, don’t act like you don’t want it to. Play coy with Zion, not me.’

‘Ladies, you need to take care of Mundora asap! I need you to focus on what is coming next.’ Lanunda sighed.

“What’s coming next?” Catori asked. She was getting a little nervous.

‘First things first, worry about Mundora. She is bloodthirsty. I know of your vision, Catori. The only way to stop it is to kill Mundora first, but it will not be easy. She is like you, and is not of this world.’

‘Where does she come from then?’

‘The belly of the beast. Do not underestimate her Catori. She plays mind tricks; she gets in your head to make you think her thoughts are yours. Why do you think you and your mate have been bickering so?’ Lanunda squawked as she picked bugs from her feathers.

“Wait, what do you mean?”

‘You feel love for your mate, but you fight it still. Pay attention Catori, Don't tire me.' She spoke sharply.

‘I mean that Blaine is hot! I couldn’t blame hoecakes for wanting to climb that mountain, but our mate…’ She was practically purring now. Catori could feel her lust brewing.

‘Focus! Goddess, I find you quite so tiring. You will need a special weapon and the only one that can help you find it is Vladimir. Your time is short and the full moon grows near. Hurry a lot depends on this Catori. Oh and before I take my leave dear, happy birthday.’ She began to flap her wings ‘Azira take it easy on the dear boy.’ She spoke

‘Not a f*****g chance!’ Azira snapped back.

‘Hoecakes, Azira really?’ Catori couldn’t help but let out a short chuckle.

‘Just so you know, slut bucket never left. Kade has been banging her poor brains out for days! He has her tied up and everything!’ Azira let out a cackle as Catori’s eyes nearly popped out of her head ‘Oh my Goddess Azira, are you serious?’

‘As hell, I’m so jealous!’

‘We have to help her!’

‘No, the hell we don’t! I don’t even like the tramp, in truth, and there are worse forms of torture! Now we have s**t to handle, she can wait. Besides, he is not r****g her, she is loving every minute of it!’

‘You said he had her tied up!’ Catori pointed out,

‘Catori torture does not sound like ooooh f**k me you are a f*****g beast, harder!’ She let out a seductive moan.

‘Oh, my goddess!’ Catori covered her ears.

‘You can’t block me out like that Sis, I’m in your head. Now can we get this show on the road?’ Azira snapped. Catori rolled her eyes as she headed for the door, but before she touched the knob, she paused. She wanted Azira to know how much she missed her, how much she needed her, how sorry she was.

‘I know Catori.’ She said softly ‘now give me my birthday treat, give me my mate.’

Catori licked her lips at just the thought of what she would do to him. Azira laughed ‘Yes dear, now we are on the same page!’

She spotted Zion coming from the field. She could tell he had just finished working out with the warriors because he was all sweaty. Azira let out a deep growl and she was carrying on like she was in heat. She found herself blushing as she remembered those good times with Zion.

“Zion, I want to talk to you if you have a minute.”

“I don’t.” He snapped.

“Why are you always angry at me?’

“Because you are constantly making a fool out of me! Why did you not tell me about the other night, Catori? Making out with witches and, partying with the pack members, and I don’t even know what to think about the s**t that they said you had done in the water!” Catori winced she had not told him these things because they were constantly bickering, “Something is off Zion, and I don't know what it is, but something has to give. I’m trying here.”

Zion stared into her eyes. Finally, he said, "Why won't you let me mark you, Cat?"

"Oh, my Goddess, that again. What is with you, Zion, this is not about me allowing you to brand me like some damn cattle!"

She knew she had messed up as soon as the words slid out her mouth, but it was all he ever wanted to talk about.

"Is that what you think I want to do?" He laughed "Kali," he began, and she flinched because he never called her that.

"Marking is no different than marriage among humans. Ever since you arrived, though there has been something between us or should I say, someone. Had you allowed me to mark you as it was written, you would know that I would die for you, you would know my loyalty should never be questioned. I don't think the problem is me, Kaleigha, I think it's you and as chosen as you are not wolf enough to admit it. You can't seem to make up your mind. So let me help you, dear. I am Zion, the alpha f*****g king of the Mystic Moon Pack and the last male living Lycan. What I am not now, nor will I ever be is anyone's choice. So go Kaleigha, be with your sorcerer or whatever the f**k he is. I'm done I, Zion Black of the Mystic Moon Pack, ah aaa." He grabbed his throat and she walked up to him and held up her hand. There in the palm of her hand, she held a small orb that contained his voice. He knew she did not want to be called Kaleigha, so he was just being spiteful. She was over it.

"Kaleigha is not MY f*****g NAME! You claim to love me, yet you would reject me."

'Give me back my voice!' He was yelling at her telepathically.

'No, give me back my heart.' She hissed as she shoved her hands in her pocket.

'Dear serves him right. How dare he! But he looks pretty pissed.' Azira laughed.

"I'm going to give you time to rethink your decision, and when you come to your senses you may have your voice back." She turned and slowly walked off.

Zion was furiously pacing back and forth. Kevin came strolling by he looked at him and instantly knew something was off. "What's up Zion?"

'She stole my f*****g voice.'

Kevin looked confused "That's possible jeesh what can't she?"

Kevin to had bags under his eyes because Tabatha was still not speaking to him. Not that Zion would notice because Catori was taking him through changes.

'She is f*****g impossible to deal with. I tried to give her what I thought she wanted.'

"What does that mean? Tell me you did not try to reject Kaleigha uh Catori."

‘Yeah, dude don’t let her hear you say that.’ Zion growled stomping off in the direction she had gone.

"Leigh, I think I found it! I think I know how to save your sister." Blaine nearly knocked her over as he was coming out, as she went to knock on his door.

"Blaine, Zion just tried to reject me."

"What is he crazy? Who would ever try to reject you?

"Look, I think he is confusing the time we spend together."

"Is he?"

"Blaine."

"Leigh the man is not blind. The only one fighting this is you. I know you remember the dream."

"Blaine, stop, you promised you would never bring that backup."

"You pulled me into your dream, Leigh. You knew exactly what would happen in my room."

"It was a dream!"

"It was, but you felt the chemistry between us."

"Blaine, I had not met Zion yet! It's different with him. I care about you, I do, I won't deny that, but I love-" before she could finish the words, he grabbed her and kissed her.

'I knew it, I f*****g knew it!" Zion yelled. Catori practically jumped back, pushing Blaine away, but it was too late. Zion had seen them and she could hear the pain in his voice.

"Zion wait, it's not what you think!" She ran after him, grabbing his arm, but he snatched his arm away from her and shifted to Czar.

They both charged each other. Blain landed the first punch, but it was like Zion was crazed. He was barely dazed as he dove right back at the Demigod chomping down on his shoulder. Blaine let out a painful cry, grabbing Zion by the neck. Catori threw her hand up and knocked them back away from each other. They both seemed dazed, but only for a moment.

'Give me my f*****g voice!' Zion growled.

"No, I know what you will do." She could hear how shaky he was. He had tears rolling down his cheek. She had completely crushed her mate. "Zion, please just listen!"

'No no, I won't. I f*****g hate you Kaleigha. I wish I had never met you. I wish I was mated to someone else! Someone like Janette. You are nothing and you hear me just fine I Zion Black-'

She let out a scream and suddenly the earth began to quiver. The ground began to move as she covered her ears, falling to her knees.

'Kali stop it! You’re going to hurt someone!' Zion began to panic and yell at her, ‘Kat!’

But she kept screaming and the ground began to split. Zion saw some pups struggling to hold on. They would fall, and he had to stop her. So, he jumped over the split earth and grabbed her, yanking her to her feet. "Kali, Kali!" He tried covering her mouth, but it was like she glitched. Finally, he did the only thing he could think of doing. He c****d his hand back and smacked her. Catori a moment, then she reached up and touched her split lip. With a defeated look she bolted toward the woods. Zion thought about going after her, but he saw Blaine chasing behind her. He instead turned and walked in the other direction to help the now terrified pups.

"Go away Blaine please!" She cried as she sat against a tree. Azira, I need you!!

"No, I won't leave you like this, Leigh!"

"He's going to reject me. I lost my love, he hates me." She cried till her shoulders shook.

"He does not hate you, Leigh. If he did, he would not have been hurt. I'm sorry this is my fault."

"No, it's not you were right. I was scared, afraid I was making the wrong choice, but when he tried to reject me, I knew, I knew I cared for him, but I'd die for him. I'm sorry Blaine."

"Me too." He said, sitting beside her, "you’re my first love, Leigh, but I hate to see you hurting this way."

"Why don't I talk to him about you?"

"No, he would try to kill you before you got a word out."

She felt so empty. "I'm going to let him cool down first then maybe he will listen."

"Well, maybe we could try to help your sister in the meantime."

"That would be nice." He gave her a hand and they headed back. Catori could not believe the length of her destruction.

"Did I-"

"Yes," Blaine said.

As they neared the crowd Catori heard a whimper.

'Azira what is it?'

'Go back kid you don't want to see this.' She began to howl.

Catori slowed down but something was pulling her forward the crowd noticed her and began to separate. Blaine was walking in front of her, but he stopped, and she walked into the back of him.

"Leigh go back." He said but now she had to see with her mind she moved him to the side and then she saw her. Michael was bending over her crying. She lost it, she completely freaked. She ran to her dropping to her knees "No Chenoa no!" She began to run her hands over her head in an attempt to heal her.

"Chenoa please!"

Blaine grabbed the first-pack member he could. "Get your alpha here now if she can't save her, she is going to spaz out!"

'Catori, you cannot save her you will die trying'

Azira warned 'no she is my sister I have to save her'

'Is her life more valuable to you than your own?'

'No sister no mate what is left Azira! If she dies, I will die.'

Catori screamed in frustration.

"Save her please!" Michael cried "please!"

Catori shut the noise out and began to hum as she ran her hands all over her body finally focusing on her head. She felt her life energy slipping from her body as the Chenoa life force grew stronger. 'Goodbye Catori, it was a pleasure being your wolf.' she heard Azira saying.

'I'm sorry Azira things ended this way.'

'Oh, no apologies. What is this?'

'Azira, what is it?'

'Our mate is here with us. He is giving us his life source'

'What how no I can't let Zion die for me'

‘ZION NO!’

‘SHUT UP KAT!’ This was the last thing she heard before the darkness overwhelmed her.

‘Hey Cat’ Catori looked around. She could hear Zion but not see him.

‘Zion, where are you? Zion, I can't find you?’ Then she saw him looking handsome in all white she ran to him but there was an invisible void separating them.

‘No oh no, Zion please, I can't live without you please.’ She began to bang on the void between them and cry hysterically.

‘Cat it's okay. You're strong, you will be fine without me. I don't have long, Kitten. I just wanted to say I love you no matter what.’

‘Zion please don't go. I’m sorry please, please, please!’ She felt her heart was being ripped out.

Catori’s eyes opened and she saw she was in the pack hospital. "Where is Zion?"

She sat upright to see she was surrounded by her friends. They all wore sorrowful looks upon their faces. They didn't have to say anything she knew already. He was gone her love was gone.

“Take me to him! Now take me.” She was out of her mind. As she ran down the hallways, peaking in each room.

“He had no right to save me, no right!”

“Kali,” River said softly, following along behind her. Behind him was a very nervous Tabatha. Kevin and Kade had allowed Vanessa to come up for air. They were afraid when she saw him, she would blow up and cause more damage.

She pushed open a door and saw Michael holding Chenoa to him. She looked up at Catori “Sister.”

Catori just stood in the door as if she was stuck. “I can’t find him. Why won’t you just take me to him.” She said, looking back over her shoulder. Her legs gave out and River grabbed her, picking her up. She placed her head on his chest and cried. I will take you to him.

He carried her down the hallway and kicked the door open with his foot. Rochelle was on one side of his bed and Lucas on the other. It was like they were not there. She crawled on the bed straddling him and lay on his chest.

“Mother please, if you can hear me, give him back, please.” She cried.

Selene could hear her cries, but in the void of nothingness, she could do nothing to help her. She could give her no guidance. She wanted to tell her there was still a chance that he was not yet with her. She could feel all of her children when their life source left them. Time was slipping away fast but there was nothing she could do.

‘Ah, Catori, my love, if only you could hear me.’

Catori set upright on her shoulders ‘I can mother.’

Selene gasped. Her little one ceased to amaze her. ‘Time is short, Dear. You can still save him, but the clock is ticking. Once your birthday has passed, you will not be able to transfer your energy to him. She need not say more. Catori knew exactly what that meant. Her eyes turned silver and began to glow. For the first time, her incisors began to protrude. She grabbed a handful of Zion’s hair and roughly yanked his head to the side. Rochelle jumped back, knocking her chair over as her wolf came forward. ‘AZIRA, HAVE YOUR MATE!’ Catori called out.

‘MY PLEASURE!’ Azira reared her head back and then came forward, sinking her incisors into his mating spot. Zion’s body began to jerk as her full powers ignited, a blinding light detonated throughout the room, blowing the windows and shaking the building.

When it dispersed, Azira leaned back, licking her lips.

“Claimed.” She panted.

Zion sucked in a deep breath and began to cough. His eyes flickered open, and he saw Azira straddling him. “Azira, I didn’t know you cared,” he said playfully.

“Shut up my love and kiss me.” She said, forcing her tongue down his throat.

“Oh, you owe me more than that.” He rubbed his now sore mating spot.

“I thought you would never ask.” She leaned forward and offered her neck to him. He gave a sexy smirk as he pulled her hair to the side.

“Son,” Rochelle said, stepping forward. He could not look away from Azira to even acknowledge her though. His eyes darkened and it was like they were in the room alone.

“Don’t you ever scare me like that again, Zion,” Catori said, coming forward?

“What was I supposed to do, Cat just let you go?” He wiped her tears away, “I told you I would die for you.” He said as he tugged at her shirt. Lucas knew once he saw his eyes grow dark that it was time to go. He grabbed Rochelle’s arm and ushered her out. “They need their time, dear.”

“But wait, I need to see that he is okay.”

“Catori is his mate, and she has given him a new life. I promise you he is alright.”

They did not even hear them, lost in each other. “Zion I’m so sorry I-” He wrapped his hands in her hair, pulling her lips to his. He pulled her shirt over her head and tossed it to the side. She looked at him, biting her lip. “This is going to hurt Kitten.”

“I don’t care anymore, Zion. I will take the pain as long as you are with me. I don't care.” He pulled at her shorts, now anxious he was. She could feel his erection as she helped him by lifting her body a little as he tugged and then shrugging and kicking her shorts out the way. She was nervous and she had butterflies in her stomach. He never stopped looking her in the eyes as he unsnapped her bra. He let out a groan as her breast sprang forward. She shrieked when he flipped her over. Zion hastily pulled his pants down just far enough to free his manhood. He wanted to be gentle with her, but he had waited for so long. He had to be inside her. He had to claim her. She heaved as she felt him at her entrance. He felt her wetness and, without further warning or thought, he gave one hard deep thrust. She screamed, digging her nails into his back. Her cries were lost to him as he dug deeper and deeper. Her warmth surrounded him. Her muscles so tight beckoning him to release, She tried to slide away, but no Zion. Czar growled and groaned in pleasure, gripping her thighs with his claws, he went as far as her walls would allow him. She heard his breathing quicken and he let one of her thighs go, only to slide an arm underneath her head. He roughly pulled her head, exposing her mating spot. “Ah, my sweet Kitten.” He groaned, sinking his teeth into her mating spot. Catori’s eyes rolled into the back of her head. The pain was sharp but suddenly sparks coursed through her veins. She arched her back and thrust forward as her nails dug into him, she called out “Zion!" He lay on top of her panting as his hands roamed her body and his seed spilled coating her insides. “Are you okay my love,” he whispered. Catori, still breathing heavily, opened her eyes and looked at him. She smiled as she wrapped her legs around his waist, “More please.” she whispered and quickly he obliged, "Happy birthday Kitten."
