The halls of justice "My Lord Michael has returned with a message from the underworld." "Ah send him in." Isaac left, returning shortly with Michael kneeling before his Grace. "Stand Michael, how was your trip?" "Hot." He replied simply. "That was to be expected." He said, waving him forward. "And what was the response to my ultimatum?" Emanuel asked nonchalantly. Michael held a box in the palm of his hand. He opened it and a fiery red light expelled forming into an iridescent image. "Greeting Emanuel," A demonic voice spoke. "I understand that you are in search of some lost souls. They are not here in the underworld I can assure you of that." "If you do not have my soul’s Lucifer, who does?" "I cannot answer that question, Emanuel. I can only assure you that if you wage war against me, it would be fruitless because I do not have the souls you seek. Emanuel I would like to thank you; however, Mundora is quite the gift." "She was an error that will be rectified." "Ah Emanuel so you are finally admitting you made mistakes." "I said she was an error. I did not say she was mine." "Ah a lot of fallen Angels Emanuel what is brewing in the heavens?" "That is no concern of yours. Very well, but Lucifer know that if I find you have attempted to deceive me in any way. I will bust the gates of hell open myself and your underworld will be nothing but a faint memory that children mention over campfires. Like that of the boogie man, is that clear?" An awkward moment of silence lingered in the room "Ah Lucifer to vain to admit you are weaker. isn't that how you ended up being casted out of heaven the last time. Your vanity some people will never learn?" With that he waved his hand the box was now ashes seeping between Michaels fingers. "My Lord do wish for me to find the missing souls and return them to you?" "No Michael, you are needed elsewhere. I hear the cries of my children go and answer their prayers. Someone else created this problem and she will be responsible for cleaning it up." "Yes, my Lord." "My Lord, what is it that you need of me?" Isaac asked standing before him. "Nothing for now Isaac I am still at the beginning of her life, I still have much to cover. Again, this is to stay between us and please relay that message to Michael as well." "Yes, my Lord." Blaine had not been able to get much sleep since his encounter with Kaleigha. He tried focusing on her trying to will her back into his dreams, so he could finish what they started, but nothing. He felt different though somehow more awake. Though it was just a dream, it was almost like he could still taste her, smell her on his fingers. This made him grow hard and he found himself rubbing and stroking until his seed spilled on his bedsheets. He got up and tossed his sheets into the laundry basket and went to brush his teeth. This was becoming an unhealthy obsession and a daily routine. He looked at himself in the mirror and he could see it himself. He was amazed. It was energy, power radiating from him. "What the hell!" He brushed his teeth and showered. He felt like he had tension building up inside him. So, he decided to go on a run. He quickly dressed, then he noticed his book of spells was gone. He looked all over his room, but it was nowhere to be found. He remembered in the dream he had Kaleigha asking if she could borrow it. He laughed to himself. She was just a human girl; it was just a dream. His mom must have taken it. He pulled his sneakers on and left, not even bothering to speak to his parents. He ended up at the library and he wasn't sure why, but he went inside and sat at the first table. "Hi, Blaine." It was Beyonka, a soft-spoken vampire that he had gone to school with. He always thought she was hot, but she was very reserved and quiet. She had dated his friend Klaud for a year before she dumped him with no explanation. Klaud had been f****d up for a while afterward. "Anything I can help you with?" She asked. "Not really, I just needed to catch my breath, to be honest." "Oh okay." She laughed "Um how is Klaud, Blaine?" She asked him. He had picked up a piece of paper and started doodling on the blank sheets. "He misses you still. Hey, why did you do him like that? You quit him out of nowhere, for no reason?" "There is always a reason. I should get back to work." She said softly, but then she didn't move. He felt her still standing over him, so he looked up. "You have been studying the ancient scrolls?" She asked as she looked at the sketches he had done. "No, why do you say that?" She slid the image closer with her finger. "Well, this is the symbol of fire." "Fire?" "Yes, and that is the symbol for air. I don't know this one though, but it looks familiar...oh wait a second I'll be right back." She left him sitting looking at the symbols. She came back and placed a huge book on the table. "Ha, I found it. I'm not as familiar with this one because, you know well, different species, but that symbol represents The Chosen." "The Chosen?" "Well, yeah he is called different things depending on where you're reading. We call him Signa, which means all mighty. He was not born to us but he knows our ways. The Werewolves call him The Chosen and the Witches call him Pers uh, something I don't know but it means most powerful. They all have a different tale of a time when he walked the earth bringing order and peace." "Wait, so are you talking about the decree? That ties to that?" he pointed from the picture he had drawn to the book she was flipping through. "Well, yes, so it is said twenty years ago a decree was sent down to kill him. So that he would not rise again." Blaine laughed at her choice of words. "How do you kill something that is all mighty, most powerful?" "Everything has a weakness. He does not develop his gift until he comes of age. So, for vampires, we don't have a coming of age. He would be born with great speed and strength, for Lycans-" "Lycans?" "Yes, so, all-mighty is so powerful because he inherited the gift of every species and he is always Lycan, but more. So, they come of age when they become seventeen. So, he would then get his wolf and, well, we all know how that works with them. With each gift, he becomes more powerful, but as a child, he is as normal as a human and as weak. So, if you were to wish him dead, that would be the time to kill him." "Why would people want him dead? He sounds like a cool dude." "Well, yes and no. The school was actually built under the last Signa. Our kind was unable to attend the day classes so he created the tunnels under the town so we could travel and work during the day, and the town was formed under the one before that. The Haven of Refuge was formed as a unity of sorts among species. There was a time when war and power separated us all. The Signa made peace and created this place for people that chose to escape. See, when he walks, the distribution of power is equal because no being is greater than him. However, the hybrid population increased, which some of the old-timers are against. They feel like beings that are powerful are an abomination. The old way is simply hatred if you ask me. It's kind of like a human way of thinking in a sense. "How so?' "Well, they are inferior because-" They both looked up at Mrs. Sharpe, the lead Liberian, approached. "Beyonka, there is a line forming at the checkout counter." "Yes ma'am." She eased away from the table, smiling at him as she went. He opened the book and began to read. He flipped through the pages and came to the picture just as in the dream. It seemed so real, but he had been around different species all his life, and Leigh was definitely human. Maybe she was practicing witchcraft, sorcery, he thought. Something was different about her. Had she placed a spell on him, no, she was too disinterested to have done that? Even in the dream she wanted him but didn't. He had to know more about her. Why was she bearing the mark of this Chosen? Then suddenly he remembered a conversation between his parents. "Ah my beloved, why are you so pressed over this fairytale? You know as well as I that the child did not survive the decree." "Selene is many things, but a liar she is not. The child lives, he just has not shown himself to me." "Ah, my love, by now the child would be twenty his powers would have come. We both would have felt it. Maybe he has none. Maybe after all you did, it was agreed you were right." She was straddling him. Massaging his back. He lifted his body and she slid off of him. "THEN WHY PUNISH ME, BANISH ME FROM MY HOME, STRIP ME OF MY POWERS!" He yelled at her. "If you had not fallen you would not have me or our beautiful son." "Would that be so terrible? I miss having you to myself and the boy is almost human. He can't even pick up on the basic spells. I expected more from the son of a God and a powerful sorceress such as you." "Heron, don't be cruel, he is still learning. You don't mean that, and you are a fallen God Heron, don't forget that." Blaine had never questioned his parents on what that meant. A fallen God because he was afraid of the answer. He knew his father was powerful. He also knew that his powers were not necessarily that of his own. He had ignored a lot of things growing up because most of the time he was simply trying hard to please them and failing miserably. His mother had once had a softness about her when it came to him but now that was for his father only. She had only harsh words for him, he was clearly a disappointment. He remembered the change came when he was sixteen and they had visited her sister. His cousin Adam was way more advanced than he was, and this angered her. She was embarrassed when his aunt had said "Aphena, my Aurora is only nine and she is better than he is at spells. What have you been teaching him?" They had laughed at his mother and she had looked at him differently ever since. She became critical after that. No more loving words of encouragement. It had hurt him for a while and now he simply did not care. He was curious to know more about his father. A fallen God. What does that mean? He thought. A journey of discovery His speed had increased, his strength was amazing, and suddenly his spells even seemed to make sense. His mother took an interest in him like she never had before and even his father had stopped to watch him. "Where is he pulling this energy from?" "I don't know, maybe it was inside him all along. I mean he is the son of a God." There was the length of a football field between them, but he could hear them discussing him. "What is this Heron that I see in your eyes?" "Do you think it will get stronger?" He asked his mother. She did not reply. If she did, he could not hear. "It is an odd wave strong but weak as if it's a temporary spell. Like it is not his own but-" "But what, dear?" "Borrowed." She spoke His mother was a b***h, but she was also wise in the ways of their people. He thought back and he realized there was only one thing different in his routine, Kaleigha. Kaleigha's essence held power. Just a taste of her had awakened something inside him. He couldn't explain it but everything in his life suddenly seemed more defined. All of his senses seemed sharper. He wasn't sure if it was her or if it was his imagination. What he did know is he touched her in a dream tasted her on his tongue and since then he felt like a f*****g God. He needed to get to the bottom of this. He needed to pay Leigh a visit he had to taste her again, devour her, make her his. Back at the Mystic Moon Pack Why would she not want me? Zion kept thinking to himself. Was it something he said? His wolf was restless; he had been whining and whimpering ever since Kaleigha left. He refused to speak to him . He felt he should have forced her to stay. "So it is settled, Emoni will become your Luna. Rochelle will make the arrangements." "I will do no such thing!" Rochelle snapped. "Rochelle we have been over this." "No you have been over this! How is he to be Emoni when he has met his true mate?" "SHE REJECTED HIM!" His father slammed his fist down on the table. "SHE DID NOT! SHE WAS RAISED BY HUMANS. SHE DOESN'T KNOW OUR WAYS! THE CHILD HAD NO IDEA WHAT HE WAS ASKING HER AND HOW COULD SHE WHEN YOU HAVE NOT TOLD HER WHAT SHE IS! UNTIL SHE UNDERSTANDS SHE CAN'T REJECT HIM!" she paused gathering her thoughts before calming looking at her mate and saying “furthermore, I’d appreciate it if you adjusted your tone.” His parents were arguing like he wasn't sitting right here. There were several people in attendance for the meeting. Alpha Lucas and his Beta Demetri, along with Rochelle of course, Emoni and Zion. "Then he must reject her!" Lucas yelled. "Never!" Zion responded. After consulting with Kevin his beta he had a clearer understanding of how humans operated. He felt like a fool, his pride had gotten in the way. Now in retrospect he didn't think his Kitten was rejecting me at all. Now he had another problem. The next full moon was approaching quickly and his father was insisting he take his place. His pack already looked to him as alpha yet it was not official. Only because he did not have his Luna. He looked over at Emoni whom his mother was glaring at. "I don't understand Lucas, have you ever heard Of the Silver Moon Pack?" "Rochelle I have but so what?" My mothers eyes nearly popped out of her head. "So what!” “Mother tell me everything. Please, I want to know!” Zion pleaded. Rochelle sighed, rolling her eyes toward my father and Emoni. "The Silver Moon Pack is said to be blessed by Moon Goddess herself and is blessed with many different powers. Some were healers, some had the gift of premonition, and so many other unspoken abilities. It is said when you mate with one of them your pack is blessed. They can make crops grow on barren land, the packs are usually blessed with riches. If you are chosen as a mate to someone from The Silver Moon pack it is considered to be a great honor. We should be celebrating right now, this is foolishness!" "How can you be so sure she is one of them? They are like a myth." Lucus retorted. "Her hair told it all. When they meet their mate the Silver streak in their hair takes over. It's radiance and her eyes…" She explained. "What, what mother!" Zion was on the edge of my seat. He wanted to know every detail about his mate. It was killing him now to sit here and not be beside her. Touching her soft skin. Looking into her beautiful eyes. He needed more and soon. "When she shifts her wolf will have eyes that glow of Silver and it is said that they shall mirror your very soul. It's called judgment and if she sees your life works as evil. She will crush your heart from the inside out." Rochelle stared at her husband more so than Zion. She could not believe he was being so stupid. Damn! A shiver went down Zion’s spine. His father was now quiet. Although he was a stubborn man he was a wise Alpha. He would always put the pack first. His face hardened. Emoni was so cocky she spoke up. "I will have my father bring the rest of my things." She smiled sweetly. "Yes Dear call your father." MyLucas said. Zion’s heart sank. He thought for sure my father would see how blessed we would be to have Kaleigha as the Luna of their pack. "Tell him he needs to come and gather you along with your things," Lucas said. Emoni gasped and Rochelle smirked. "But Alpha-" "MY DECISION IS FINAL!" He said in his alpha tone. "Zion, you will wait for permission from Alpha Xander of the Red Blood pack before entering his territory. Take Beta Kevin and three of our strongest warriors. Kaleigha stays in unclaimed territory so who knows what trouble there will be there." He was frustrated now. He ordered him to wait. How couldn’t stay away from her that long? "Also, I have requested of our Elders information they have on the Silver Crescent Moon Pack. Are they here yet Beta Demetri." "No Alpha, they are still preparing for the journey." It wasn't much of a journey, but they moved rather slowly and were quick to remind all that they had a right too. The Elders stayed beyond the waterfall and seldom came down unless summoned or if they had some knowledge they chose to share. "Very well. Beta Demetri, how is the young warrior who was injured on the night of the full moon?" "He has completely recovered." Demetri said. "Was Dr. Arden not informed of this meeting?" My father asked. "She was Alpha." Demetri said as looked around the room at all in attendance. "I will go to the hospital. Maybe she was busy." We discussed a few details concerning rogues roaming our territories, Zion spoke all the while watching Emoni with her arms crossed. She was pissed. "The attacks are becoming more frequent and vicious. Almost like they are searching for someone or something." Demitri said. "Our warriors are prepared." Lucus said, "Well this has been a stressful day. This meeting is adjourned for now." Thank Goddess Zion was practically dying to leave. Ever since he found his mate, she consumed his every thought. His mother gave me a smile of reassurance. She was always looking out for him. 'Thanks, Mother,' he mind linked her. 'All in a day's work' she said. Emoni POV "I can't believe this s**t! I should be the next Luna!" Emoni hissed. "Emoni, alpha Lucas has to do what's best for the pack," Emma said calmly. "I am best that pathetic she-wolf is weak. She can't even shift into her own wolf. And Luna Rochelle is a conniving little b***h! She welcomed me into the pack only to turn on me when that w***e showed up." She was so angry she was shaking. "I'll call uncle Travis to come an-" Emoni had her by the throat before she could even finish. "You will do no such thing!" She said, tossing her across the room and into the wall, "The only thing keeping me from the Luna position is Zion's little pet. So this is an easy fix. I simply have to get to her before he marks the bitch." She heard a gasp and looked in Emma’s direction "you, you're going to kill her." She said, "You, you're going to kill her." I said, mocking her. She was so pathetic. The only reason she’d kept her around was because she was her cousin. "Yes I'm going to kill her, and I will need your help." "Me, what do you want me to do?" Emma whined "The only person that seems to know anything real about that b***h is River. He's too smart to share that information with me, but you Emma he will trust. Use a little seduction for the information." Emma frowned "no way he is just a pup." "Maybe so but he likes girls. Goddess, you are so stupid. I didn't say sleep with him." Emma was not the brightest wolf, all beauty and no brains. "This will call for a little extra help. I am going to visit the witches of Everest. I will be back soon and when I do return dear cousin you will have the information I seek." Her eyes turned black "or you will have death!" Emma gulped in fear as Emoni strolled out letting the door slam behind her.
