A shifting next to me woke me. My eyes glance down; Ivy's face is tilted up as her head rests on my shoulder. Leanign down, kissing her forehead, she lets out a soft sigh. But nuzzles into me, looking out the window, I saw it was dark out,
"Butch." My father's voice bounced in my head. He sounds off.
"Yeah, Dad."
"Patrol just encountered some rogues on the west border."
Shit, I slip my arm out from under Ivy's head, laying her head on the pillow, I stood up, pulling the blanket up and over her, stepping back, I walked towards the door,
Wait, why is Dad linking me this and not the patrols?
"Um, Dad, how did you know about this before me?"
"Well, they tried linking you, but you must have had your blocks up, so when they couldn't get you to answer, they linked me."
