CHAPTER 38: THE SILENT CURSE

1320 Words

The moon hung low in the night sky, casting an ethereal glow over the village on the outskirts of Credia. The once-thriving community now lay shrouded in an otherworldly darkness, its buildings casting long, ominous shadows that seemed to writhe in the still air. King Jason, flanked by the council of elders, led a contingent of guards toward the heart of the cursed village. Lady Elara, with a book clutched tightly in her hands, murmured incantations to provide a faint glow that illuminated their path. As they ventured deeper into the village, a stifling silence enveloped them. No wind rustled the leaves, no creatures stirred in the shadows.
