“No no no please” Jack cries in his sleep
He’s covered in sweat slinging his head side to side.
“Please please please” he cries out and my chest tightens at his pleas
“Jack” I shake him trying to wake him
“I’m sorry please I’m sorry” he whispers
“Jack it’s ok, wake up” I shake him again harder this time
His eyes pop open the look in them causing me to jump back. He sits straight up bringing his knees up to his chest then dropping his head between them.
I don’t say anything I just rub his back while he tries to steady his breathing. It takes him a few minutes to calm down from his nightmare.
“I’m sorry” he breathes out
“For what?” I pause rubbing his back confused as to why he would be apologizing to me
