Maybelle woke up with Charles next to her,she looked up his sleeping face with a smile. He was still as handsome as ever even thought now his rugged looks were enhanced by the scars that marred his cheek and throat. She kissed his lips passionately before kissing his chest, he stirred before opening his eyes.
"Ya awfully affectionate". He said, his voice was impossibly deeper and this sent tingles to her core. She bit back the moan she had.
"I just can't believe you are here with me again". She said lovingly and he didn't say anything.
