Charles sat with his leg crossed over the other as he listened to Joe speak.
"I find a new business in Miami I need you to go do bidding". Joe said as he licked his greasy fingers Charles looked at him in disgust.
Does this fat f*ck ever stop eating
He thought to himself. As he studied the man's movements, Charles always studied Masseria like a book. He was always looking for the opportunity to take him and whack this fat f*ck so he could take his rightful place as king of New York
"Maimi, you say". He said as he removed the cigarette from his mouth, he wished badly that it was his opium pipe so he could at least enjoy himself whilst being in the presence of this fat f*ck but being high on the job was not a great idea he needed to be one hundred percent focused if he wanted to get where he wanted to be. That is why he was also thinking of getting rid of Maybelle she was slowly becoming a distracting and it reminded him of why he didn't do relationships in the first place. He hadn't seen or spoken in a week since he heard a man answer her phone.
"Yes, Miami I have a friend who does business there". Joe said confidence oozing out of his voice.
"I thought the Cubans ran that side of the country". Charles said putting out his cigarettes. In all honesty, he was not being truthful, he was very much aware that there some Italians in Maimi since he himself had a business that side. He fought the urge to groan because if Joe started doing business on that side he would find out about his secret heroin trade and that pissed Charles off because he knew Joe would demand a cut in the business.
"Italians work there to Salvatore. Don't go do no business with no Cubans you hear. It bad enough you do business with those filthy Christ-killers. You must stay with your own kind yes". It took every ounce of discipline in him not to take the knife on the table and stab this fat f*ck in the face to shut up once and for all.
A tall olive-skinned man dressed in a dark suit walked up to the table and whispered something in Masseria's ear who in turn nodded before getting up and walking away with the man. Charles watched with interest as the two men engaged in what seemed to be an interesting conversation. It must have been good news because Masseria smiled before throwing his head back laughing, he gently patted the man's back before returning to the table.
"Toto I come with good news". Joe said happily.
"F*ck ya so happy about". Charles asked in a monotone voice.
"Chalky White is in New York". Joe declared and Charles looked at him in confusion.
"I need to spell it out for you Salvatore huh?. He no longer in his territory he in my kingdom my house now. He gave no protection yes". Joe couldn't help but smile he finally had Chalky where he wanted him.
"Whatchu ya want me to do". Charles spoke with a dark look in his eyes, he knew what Joe wanted him to do but he needed confirmation. Joe made the throat-cutting gesture and Charles nodded getting up retrieving his hat and overcoat.
"Salvatore". Joe called out gaining Charles' attention.
"Make him suffer". He instructed and Charles nodded before turning around and walked out of the restaurant to complete the task in hand.
Charles finally arrived at the hotel and went to the reception area. A woman stood at the desk with an obviously fake smile on her face.
"Good afternoon sir how my help you". She beamed out when he reached the front desk and he fought the urge to roll his eyes.
"I need Albert White's hotel room number". He said rudely not bothering to greet, he was here on business so formalities were not on his list of priorities.
"I am sorry sir but we are not allowed to give out that kind of information". She replied, her smile had fallen and she didn't seem amused by his attitude.
"I'm a friend of his and I want to visit". He replied annoyance laced in his voice. He was beginning to lose his temper.
"As I said previously sir we are not allowed to give out that kind of information". She repeated.
"That what are ya allowed to do then". His voice raised a little.
"I can call Mr. White and let him know about your visit". She offered.
"I wanted it to be a surprise Goddammit". He yelled at her and she didn't flinch a muscle and this impressed.
"Sir I am going to have to ask you to lower your voice. You are disturbing our guests". She told in a harsh tone.
"Lower my voice?. F*ck are ya, my mother". He asked not liking her tone of voice.
"No, but she clearly failed in teaching you manners especially when it comes to speaking to a lady". She shot back giving him a harsh stare.
"Ya gotta smart mouth for a broad I outta smack it for ya". He whispered darkly moving closer to her face.
"Mmm rednecks, is that what little girls are into these days?". She tapping a pen her cheek as if she was really thinking. Charles smiled at the woman in front of him. She was bold and he liked that.
"Book me a room on the same floor as Mr. White". He whispered with a smirk on his face.
"Of course sir". She smiled seductively as she took his driver's license to book him a room.
"Room 779 on the fifth floor". She said giving him his room key.
"Ya can join me later and show me around I ain't familiar with these hotel things". He whispered as he took the key from her hand.
"Of course sir it would be my duty as a good employee to make sure the guests are happy". She fluttered her eyes seductively and Charles smirked before turning away.
He walked towards the elevator as the doors opened and he went in pressing the button for the fifth floor. The doors closed and he was left inside with his thoughts. He really didn't want to kill Chalky White since he was a good connection for him in Atlantic City but if he wanted to stay in Joe's good books he had to plus he really was not that interested in Atlantic City it was just extra cash. New York was what he wanted after it was the big apple and if that meant killing Chalky White to get it than he gladly would and after that he f*ck the brunette at the reception he thought as he smirked to himself.
