He hadn’t meant to say that. What had gotten into him? He was supposed to be resolving the situation, not making it more complicated. Marry? That wasn’t even on his agenda. It would have been better to just say they were as good as engaged.
Wait! That would work. But he already felt terrible lying to his father and this would make it worse. But there was no way he could suddenly end the relationship now, not with what he had just declared to his father. He would have to ask Dana if she could stay engaged to him for a few weeks, and then they would break it off.
