Why would Josh’s mom be calling her? Dana hadn’t met her yesterday at Josh’s house, but she must have heard what happened.
“Hello?”
Dana swallowed the lump in her throat. She could do this. “Yes?”
“I thought I had lost you for a second.” The voice sounded friendly. Maybe it wouldn’t be as bad as she thought. “Would it be possible for you to meet me today, let’s say at one p.m.?”
Dana looked at the time on her phone. It was twelve noon already. She could make it happen. “Sure.”
“Wonderful, I’ll text you the details. See you soon.” The call ended.
Dana slumped back in her seat. Somehow, she’d forgotten Josh’s mother in the whole mix. What was Dana supposed to do? See her or not see her? She had to admit she was curious about her. What kind of person was she? Would she turn
