Boomer stood with his arms crossed, looking incredibly smug. "I'm one of the top 10 System Bearers in the world! Don't get cocky, kid," he announced loudly, like his rank alone should make Klein back down.
Klein didn't even blink. He looked Boomer up and down, unimpressed. "Cocky?" he said coldly. "You're the cocky one."
Boomer's grin twitched, but before he could answer, Klein shot forward.
They clashed hard, fists flying, each hit shaking the park like small explosions.
Boomer swung at Klein's head with a massive punch, but Klein dodged easily, his scales glinting as the blow cracked the ground where he'd just been standing.
"You have the Berserk system," Klein said, jumping back. He dodged another attack smoothly.
"It makes you stronger when you get hit. But," Klein smirked as he ducked under another punch, "you risk losing control."
Boomer snarled, annoyed. "And I'll get stronger with every hit!" he yelled, slamming his fist into the ground and leaving a huge crater as Klein dodged again.
More people gathered to watch, feeling the raw power between them. Shockwaves rippled through the ground with each impact.
Klein blocked a powerful punch with his scaled arms. "You hit like a sledgehammer," he muttered, feeling the force travel up his arms. "Even my defenses feel this..."
Boomer grinned wildly. "Not so cocky now, huh?!"
"He's a monster," Klein thought, watching him carefully. He took a breath, his scales shimmering in the sun. "No point holding back anymore."
Boomer didn't notice the change. He charged again, fists ready. But Klein had made his decision.
"Brace yourself," Klein warned calmly. His eyes narrowed. "This could kill you."
Boomer stopped, confused. Before he could react, the air around Klein went completely still.
His wings spread wide, casting dark shadows as his body began to change. The temperature shot up, heat waves warping the air as Klein's power exploded outward.
"Devour!" Klein shouted. His wings stretched wider as his body grew, the golden glow around him becoming blinding. The ground shook, and the crowd fell silent in awe.
Boomer's confident grin faded. "What the...?"
His eyes went wide as he watched Klein transform. Klein's body was now covered in thick black and gold scales, towering and overwhelming.
His fiery red eyes locked onto Boomer, the casual smirk gone, replaced with something dangerous.
Boomer whistled, trying to act tough. "Now we're talking—" But Klein's fist slammed into his jaw. The impact exploded like thunder, shaking the entire park. The crowd gasped.
Boomer stumbled back, his head snapping sideways, barely staying on his feet. He touched his jaw in disbelief. "Such strength..." he mumbled.
Klein stood tall, wings casting shadows over the dazed Boomer.
He was no longer the fighter Boomer thought he could handle. He'd become unstoppable.
Boomer shook his head, trying to clear it. "You... you're something else," he admitted grudgingly.
Klein didn't answer. His gaze sharpened, and he raised his arm. "I'm not done yet," he said, his voice echoing with power that made everyone shiver.
"Storm's Breath!" Klein roared. Black and golden flames exploded from his mouth, swallowing Boomer instantly.
The blast scorched the ground, the heat reaching even distant watchers. Trees swayed from the shockwave, leaves falling like rain.
When the flames died, the park went silent. Boomer stood there, smoking and singed, but somehow still on his feet—barely.
He swayed, a dazed grin on his face. "Amazing..." he muttered, before collapsing unconscious, still smiling.
Klein sighed, his wings folding as the golden glow faded.
"It's over," he said, looking down at Boomer's body. He shook his head. "Battle maniac," he added, watching Boomer grin even while knocked out.
