Her eyes drooped as I let her go and moved back to my seat. “Does that bother you, Chase?” She looked up at the sky as the first stars began showing up, seeming shy all of a sudden.
“It doesn’t bother me.” I wasn’t sure what I felt, but I didn’t feel bothered. “Arabella, it’s just that I don’t want to rush into anything. If I’m going to be the first person you’ve ever given so much to, then I want to earn that. We’ve only known each other for one week. You deserve better than that after you’ve waited so long. We need to get to know one another before we do so
