Kyer and Lyra took their usual seats across from us. Though the girls chatted, Kyer and I spent the rest of the trip in silence. I stared at him as if trying to memorize every inch of his flawless skin, and he kept making faces at me—wriggling his eyebrows, twisting his lips, sticking out his tongue. Anything to make me laugh.
