After lunch we didn’t get assigned to sit with any of the workers to see what it was they did. Instead we just continued the tour, visiting level after level full of people hunched over consoles while our guide talked. Each level of the building focused on a different aspect of Colony life. The workers in the pharmaceutical department oversaw the production and distribution of the pills. Those in the monitor department dealt with the electrical and technical aspects of maintaining the screens. There was a eugenics department whose focus was the creation of life, a birthing department which provided supplies to the Birthing Center, a nutrition department which oversaw production and distribution of food, and even an elder department to handle issues related to the Elder Center.
