The Rec Room stretched several stories high, each floor dedicated to a different activity. The first level was segregated into courts for team sports—basketball, football, soccer—with a couple glass-enclosed handball courts around the edges for people who wanted one-on-one competition. The second level ringed around the courts in an indoor track, where people raced each other around in circles, the slower ones walking along the wall and chatting. On the third level was gym equipment—weights, treadmills, ellipticals, individualized exercise. There was a pool on one of the upper levels, and a playground for younger children, and a baseball diamond, as well. I usually stayed on the first two levels.
