Chapter five: good old days

(danny perspective)

“No way!” i was on the phone with jen and she just ld me she just had s*x with joey. For some reason i was mad no there a reason why i’m mad.

“So are you happy that you that over with? What the next move for you?” i asked and jen sighed on the other line.

“Don't know but we’ll see.”

“Okay well i need to continue my game brofer i die. Hope you and joey have a good shower.” i heard shifting from the other end. I’m guess joey is still there. Jen just chucked on the other line.

“Thanks, see you.” jen hung up and i just sighed. Man i knew this was coming eversince jen and joey got closer. Me and en were pretty close but it took us a while to get to are friendship level now.

Flashback

“Daniel!” my mom yelled and i put my power ranger down.

“Come meet are new neighbors.” my mom walked up to me and look down at me.

“Okay.” i got up from the ground and my mom grabbed my hand. We walked to the front door as my dad was putting on his shoes. My mom let go of my hand grabbing my shoes. I stayed still as i my mom out on my shoes on for me. I knew how to tie my shoe but my mom still insisted to do it. My mom put on her shoes after. She grabbed my hand and we walked out the house. There i saw a family walking out there car. I saw a girl my age. She had brown hair and blue eyes. I looked at her mom and dad. They look fresh and plus the car they had was cool.

“Hello there.” my mom greeted them and they noticed us.

“Hello.” the mom greeted us back with a smile.

“I’m morgan hook, This is my husband john dean hook. This is my son danny hook.” my mom introduce us. The girl my age moved closer to her dad as i saw a older boy walk around the car. He went to the girl and carried her in his arms.

“Hello, i’m jack smith, this is my wife lurane and my son ron. This is jeannie my daughter.” the dad jack introduced us to his family.

“Nice to meet you, so let me guess your son is in high school?” my dad questioned. Ron i think looked surprised.

“Close but i’m about to be in high school next year.” ron said smiling.

“Jeannie here is five so she about to start school herself.” jack said and my parents looked surprised.

“Danny is also five.” my mom looked at me with a smile. Jack and lurane looked at each other with a smile.

“Wow look at that jen sweetie. You have a friend to hangout with.” lurane looked at jeannie hid her face. Ron chuckled as he started to whisper to her.

“It good to know that danny now a friend he can also hangout with. Right danny?” my dad looked at me. I just nodded.

“Okay so do you guys need help by any chance?” my mom asked. Jack and lurane look at each other and nodded.

“If you have the time.” lurane saind my parents smiled.

“Let go help then. Ron right?” my dad looked at ron.

“Yes sir.” ron looked at my dad confused.

“Can you watch over the kids while we help your parents?” my dad asked and ron nodded. Okay time to make a new friend. My mom let go of my hand.

“Go with ron daniel.” my mom whispered in my ear. I just nodded and ron noticed me as i walked to ron. He grabbed my hand as we walked in the house. My parents and ron’s parent were talking.

“You hungry danny?” ron asked me as we made it to the kitchen. I noticed the kitchen was getting set up first.

“Not really but can i have water?” i asked and ron nodded. He put jeannie still his arms on a stool. She looked at me for a second and she looked away. She very shy.

“want pizza rolls? I can make some.” ron went to my level asking me.

“Sure.” i said an ron smiled.

“Let get you sat down then.” ron said he walked to the stool next to jeannie. I followed him as he carried me and sat me down. Jeannie was just playing with her fingers.

“So danny you go to a nearby school here?” ron asked me and grabbed a fresh cold bag of pizza rolls from a bag. They went shopping before hand.

“Yeah, it fun. I’m sure jeannie will like it. My teacher mr, koil is very nice.” i looked at jeannie still playing with her fingers.

“That good, jen i know you're scared but moving for mama and papa company was need.” ron put 12 pizza rolls i think on a plate and put it in the plugged in microwave.

“I know but i didn’t want to move.” jeannie finllyspeaks. I was surprised. She sounded sad.

“It was bound to happen jen.” ron walked up to jeannie and hugged her.

“I grew up here so i can help you learn the area if you like? I know a good playground here that all my friends play in. i would say my friends aren't very nice but i can protect you from them.” i said nervous. Jeannie noticed i’m nervous. All my friends are all boys and a few girls but mainly boys. Ron started to laugh.

“Thanks for telling me that danny, where the park?” ron looked at me as the microwave went off.

“Just a few blocks from here. My dad walks me there twice a week since he strict with me around people.” ron looked shocked and nodded.

“I can understand your father reason. I’m strict with her being around other people too.” ron said grabbing the smoking pizza rolls. “Let it sit for a few minutes.” ron out the pizza rolls in front of me and jeannie. I noticed jeannie looked at me for a second but looked away.

“You can talk to me, don't be scared.” i get that she hesitated to talk but i see myself as a nice person or in my mom term a sweetheart. Jeanie looked down and nodded.

“How far is school from here?” jeannie asked looking a t me.

“It a long drive, i’m sure my dad will drive us there.”

“How long? Wait you can't tell time can’t you.” ron lean against the kitchen counter with his elbows.

“I’m sure they can show us where it is.” jeanie said picking up a pizza roll.

“I sure my dad can show you.” i said also picking up pizza roll. I slowly bit into it just in case it still hot.

“I’ll ask him later. Just eat up and maybe we can play in your house. You have cable right?’ ron went to the fringe and took out a water bottle. He then went to grab two small cups and poured the water in them.

“I do, i know the good shows.” i ate my second half of my pizza roll.

“Okay good. They need their personal space of they want to set up everything here. I have to set up my room tomorrow but it fine.” ron gave us our water. Jeannie went for the water finishing off her first pizza roll. So far jeanie is still shy but she willing to talk sometimes.

“No fair!” jeannie frowned at me as we were playing rock paper siccors for the last piece of cookie,

“Ust share it you two.” ron came in with a gallon of milk and split the cookie in half. The cookie was pretty big. Jeannie smiled and i just groaned. “Be nice danny.” ron poured more milk in are cups. He didn't put much, just half way.

“Sorry.” i said and ron sighed.

“It fine danny.” ron went back to my kitchen putting the milk away.

“Hey ron, how's the kids doing?” my mom asked walking in the house. She had her hair tied up, she looked tired.

“There getting along, just fought over a cookie just now.” ron walked back to me and jeannie as we ate are slip cookie.

“Are you breaking your mother rule?” my mom asked and i was confused.

“Just two and a half cookies.” ron sat next to jeannie. My mom rolled her eyes.

“Not too much sugar for jeannie and now including danny.” my mom walked back out the house. Ron groaned.

“Sorry danny, looks like my mom already influenced your mom on some strict rules. Jen is on a healthy diet since my mom dont want jeannie to be a unhealthy child.” ron looked at me. I just nodded.

“It fine, my dad and mom were talking about it anyways since i been eating hella sweet too lately.” ron looked surprised.

“So are you going t be on a healthy diet too?” jeannie asked looking a t me.

“I guess so jen.” ron grabbed the remote and put the volume up. We were watching disney channel.

(5 years later)

“Dan!” jeannie hugged me from behind as we got out of school. We were pretty close now but now really. She hung out with her friends half the time. She by the way started ‘dan’ as my nickname since apparently my name was to long to say. I just accepted it.

“Yes jen?” i also started to call her jen after a year of getting to know each other. It was awkward at first but she got used to it. Jen hopped of my back and walk beside me as we walked home. Are middle school wasn't far from are house.

“Let go kyle's birthday party together.” kyle was a guy that jen liked but she was to scared to approach him alone.

“Oh sure, we have to talk to are parents about that.” i took out my phone which was a iphone 4, Jen had the same. You're probably think are parent spoiled us and yes they did. They gave it to us for are birthdays. I called my mom.

“Yes daniel?”

“So can me na jen go to are friends birthday party this weekend?’ i asked hesitantly.

“Why this all sudden?”

“Just asking. Jen os going but she want to go together.” i heard my mom sign on the other side.

“I’ll ask lurane for you but only on one condition.” i groaned and jen looked at me confused on her phone.

“What is it mom?”

“Ron has to come like always.” i looked at jen and i guess she heard my mom

Said. jen was shaking her head.

“Okay fine.”

“Good, okay i’ll tell lurane.”

“Thanks mom, i love you.”

“I love you too.” i hung up and put my phone away.

“What did your mom say?” jen asked putting her phone away. I just sighed in frustration.

“You already know. Yes but your brother has to come.” jen nodded.

“Okay then, you have to help me find what to wear.” jen grabbed my arm as we got close to are houses. Of course. I was her go to when it came to outfits.

“Okay.” we didn't even go to her house just straight to my house. We do this often. We knew each other houses at this point. We walked in and i saw my mom gone. She went to talk to jen mom. We walked to my room across from hers.

“So you know kyle more then me, what style does he like?” jen asked as we entered my room.

“It doesn't matter jen.” i sat at my desk. Jen sat at my bed. I put my bag next to my desk.

“It doesn't matter to me. I like him and i want to impress him.” jen laid on my bed. I just rolled my eyes.

“Doesn't matter jen.” i pulled out my phone to call kyle. Jen groaned pulling out her phone.

“Hey dan.”

“Hey kyle.” jen froze and got up looking at me, I just smirked.

“What up bro?”

“What style do you like in a girl? just curious.” it was slnet on the other line for a while. I put my phone on speaker.

“Style? I like it when girl show there ass and curves.” jen looked shocked, So i was. I just cleared my throat.

“Okay, thanks for that.” i just cringed and jen was still shocked.

“Okay what about you? What do you like in a girl since you call me.” i just sighed.

“I don't know kyle, i don't know.” i lean back on my desk chair.

“You find out soon. By the way are you coming to my 11th bday?”

“Of course but i’m coming with jen and her brother. I have no choice.” kyle groaned on the other line.

“Her brother if overprotective i swear to god but i mean you do need a driver. So jen coming with you, you guys are always together.”

“Not always but when you see us were always together.” i looked at jen looking up at the ceiling and listening.

“Jen really cute but i’m scared to make a move on her. Should i make a move on her at my party?” i was surprised and i looked at jen covering her mouth.

“I mean if you think it's the right time.”

“Okay i’ll think about it.”

“See you bro at your party.”

“See you.” i hung up and the moment put my phone on my desk jen screamed.

“No way! Okay now it matters.” jen got up from my bed happy. Oh boy i regret doing that, and so i did we went to his party a few days after. long story short kyle started to talk to jen a lot more and a month later they started dating. Jen kept this relationship a secret from her parents including her brother. Only i knew about this.

“Danny!” kyle walked up to me and i just turn to face kyle.

“Hey kyle.” kyle and jen been dating for six months now and i amazed this last this long. The longest relationship i seen is three months.

“Do you know where jen is?” i was surprised.

“Um no, i can text her.” i pulled out my phone.

“She didn’t answer my call or text.” kyle stood beside me. I texted jen anyways.

“Your boyfriend is looking for you.” i waited for a good minute until jen showed up breathless. She was running.

“Hey found you! Sorry i just tried out for cheerleading.” jen came from behind kyle. Kyle was shocked.

“Cheer?” i questioned and jen nodded. Kyle put a smirk on his face and walked to jen. He hugged her by her shoulders.

“I forgive you babe, why did you tell me?” kyle look down at jen.

“Oh i wanted to surprise you.” jen hugged kyle back and kyle hugged jen even tighter.

“What a good surprise. When are you practices so i can support you.” jen scoffed.

“She need to find out of she got in first then you’ll see.” i said . jen just looked up at kyle. Kyle nodded.

“Right, okay let go and eat out. I drop you home after.” kyle kiss jen head. They both walked away as they whispered to each other. Jen was smiling a lot. I was happy for her but i don't think kyle is the right one for her. I just sighed heading home. Of course i was right. Another two month past and kyle broke up with jen. I found out he was moving school and he didn't want a long distance school relationship. Jen was heartbroken. because her parents and brother didn’t know. They thought she just had a bad day. I was in her room currently tending to her crying. I really hated kyle right now.

“I understand why he broke up with me but he should've told me he's moving to a new school beforehand so we can work something out.” jen said laying on her stomach crying in her pillow. Lucky jen hasn't started to wear make up yet unlike other girls.

“I agree with you jen, just see this as a mistake. Now you know how real dating is like. I'll alway be there to support you if you need me. I am your best friend.” i said laying next to jen who moved from her pillow to me. She was hugging me tightly and i just hugged her back.

“Thanks for being there for me always.” jen said not looking up. Her face is probably a mess.

“I’ll always be there for you jen.” i kissed jen head. At this point me and jen became closer to the point where i fell in love with her so i thought. I knew i was satched to jen but i didn't see her other them my closed or best frond. Val then come in my life and i started to date her. Val was my first girlfriend ever. I did really date throughout the years because i was ready for it after what happened to jen. This time i was ready when i met val.
