chapter eleven: lonely

“I have to go okay babe, don't miss me too much.” joey cupped my cheeks and kissed me passionately. I closed my eyes taking at the moment. Joey was going to a family emergency back at Utah for his sick grandma. He was going away for a week and a half at the max. I didn't mind but I’ll miss him a lot.

“I will try.” he pulled away and lean his forehead on mines.

“Joey, let go!” Joey's dad yelled while waiting with there uber. Joey sighed and kissed me one more time.

“I’ll face time you when I get a chance okay?” joey look deep in my eyes. I tried not to cry.

“I’ll be ready for you.” I said with a smile. Joey pecked my lips and hugged me tightly by the shoulders.

“I love you and I’ll miss you.” Joey took in my sent and let go of me grabbing his luggage and waking to his parents. I stay outside my house as joey out his luggage in the uber truck. He entered the back seat with his mom. My mom came from behind me and waved as the uber drove off.

“Don’t cry honey, you have his number.” my mom said and I just nodded as I smiled at my mom. We walked into the house together. My parents promise to keep the house clean for them so my dad got the house keys from Joey's dad. My dad was in the kitchen cooking.

“Hey dad, can I ask you a question?” I asked and sat at the kitchen counter. My mom went to wash her hands to help my dad cook.

“What is it sweetie?” my dad didn't look at me and continued to cut the vegetables. My mom just grabbed some raw meat and started to cut the fat off.

“What health problem does joey grandma’s have? You don't have to answer if you don't want.” I asked. My dad froze and got done cutting the vegetables. He sighed and cleared his throat.

“She had cancer and it got it got worse recently. They want to visit her before she passes away if possible.” my dad said and my mom just looked at my dad. My mom knew he didn’t have to answer the question as I said but he’s an honest man and my mom knew that.

“She has been battling it for a while so I can imagine the pain she going through especially since she did chemotherapy in the past.” my mom said and I felt bad for joey. He told me that there was this grandma he liked that he grow up with before he moved to California as a toddler for a better future and for his dad's work. This must the granda since he’s want to go with his parents even though he didn’t have too.

“He told me he grow up with a grandmother he liked and I think this is the grandmother he talks about.” I said and my parent looked at each other as my dad washed the cut vegetables. My mom cut the meat in cubes. There making stew I think.

“He was told not to go if he didn’t want too but he wanted to go. That makes more sense now.” my dad said putting the washed vegetables in a clean sink. My mom got done cutting the raw meat.

“You should do your homework now sweetie. Joey might facetime you later while waiting for his plane.” my mom said and I just sighed. I got up my seat and walked the stairs. I walked up the stairs as my dad put water in a pot. I walked to my room and once I entered I got a text on my phone. I sat at my bed and saw Joey texted me.

Big boy: “I miss you already, plus how am I going to handle myself without you.” I was surprised but I felt bad for him. How will he handle himself? He does get horny easily and it shows since he’s a boy. I chuckled just thinking about what his family will say when they see it. He told me his family is not door knocking type like mines and they just walk in.

“Good luck with that big boy. I hope they don't walk in on you.” I locked my phone and walked to my desk. I sat down getting another text from joey.

Big boy: “I can lock the door and they have to knock. Looks like I have to face time you every time I feel it.” I just shook my head and replied.

“No way, just think about me big boy.” I open my laptop and took out my math homework. I got a text back.

“Come on babe, I need to see your face.” I rolled my eyes. He has a few of my selfies I took with his phone so he can look at my face just like that.

“Use my selfies babe. You have a picture of me in my bikini remember? Use that.” I opened you to play a video for background sound as I do my homework. I got a text.

“Okay fine but if that doesn't work, expect a face time. Also, keep checking your snapchat every day.” i rolled my eyes and just replied.

“I'm always ready.” I locked my phone and continued to do my homework.

An hour passed and I finish my homework basically. I was on my bed on a call with Danny. He was planning to come here later because he knows I feel lonely without anyone by my side.

“So how life going without a man by your side for once.” I groaned and Danny chuckled.

“It sucks, I mean it weird because I look at joey’s window and he’s not there.” I got up and fixed my hair to one side. Danny just chuckled again.

“Remeber when I used to live there? It was fun but I fell sad that I had to move.” I sighed. I was sad too that he moved but he had to for a good reason.

“I still have the whiteboard from the past.” I said and I can tell Danny got up from his bed. But I also heard a girl groan in the background as well. Are you kidding me?

“Did you call me after you had s*x?” I questioned. I heard Danny get out the bed and he sighed.

“You need to know I’m a player now Jen.” Danny said and I can tell he picked up some clothes.

“I know, I’ll see you soon after a shower?” I questioned and Danny chuckled again. I got off my bed and walked to my balcony.

“I’ll shower at your place, see you soon?” Danny questioned back. I sighed and leaned against the railing.

“Fine, see you soon.” I hung up and put my phone in my sweats pocket. I hugged my body as the wind hit my face making my hair fly back. I feel weird not having joey around. I wonder if he got to the airport already. Maybe I should ask him about his grandma.

“Honey the stew is done. Here I’ll leave it here at your door.” my dad said at the other side if my door. My mom and dad cook together often. I want to be like that with joey but he doesn’t cook. I cook though, not very often but I cook every now and then. I walked to my door closing my balcony door. I walked to my room door and open it slowly. I saw the hot stew with a spoon on the side and a cup of water on a tray. I grabbed the tray and picked it up walking in my room and put the ray on my desk that was clean and my laptop at my nightstand charging. I put the tray on my desk and sat down. I got another text from joey.

Big boy: “it feels would without you here babe. I’m waiting at the terminal now.” I put a smile on my face and replied. Their flight leaves soon so he has to wait for another hour?

“For sure it does. Danny coming over to keep me company so don't feel jelly okay?” I picked up my spoon and started to eat. I got a reply right away.

“If he touched you I swear.” I rolled my eyes.

“Call me?” I questioned and big boy pop on my phone seconds later. I answered it. I put my spoon down.

“Hello baby?” I said and Joey chuckled.

“New nickname?” joey questioned. I realize I started to call joey baby since he calls me babe.

“Better than big boy?” I questioned, Joey chuckled.

“You know it.” looks like I have to change his name on my phone.

“So baby? Can I ask you a question?” I can tell Joey was thinking.

“Sure.” I sighed before I spoke.

“Can I ask about your grandma? You don’t have to talk about her if you don't want.” I lean back on my desk chair.

“Well my granda is from my dad side and she took care of me since I was a baby. She taught me about love and caring for others. Why do you think I care for you so much and spoil you with love if you know what I mean. She also thought me to express my expression which make sense of my anger issues.” i rolled my eyes. “She also was my baby sitter all the time when my parents are at work. She cooked for me all the time too.” I was shocked. That why he acts like a lazy bum.

“That makes sense why you let your friends do the work until you met me.” I said rolling my eyes agian. “Are you going to do the cooking now or at least show your granda how caring and loving you are as a grandson?” I questioned and joey chuckled on the other line.

“I might so want to hear more stories about my grandma?” joey questioned and I just sighed. I still had 40 minutes until his plane.

“Sure.” their joey started to tell me stores.

(joey’s perspective )

“Helen?” My mom Said and my auntie Helen from my dad side pop her head from the kitchen. We made it back to our house in Utah. compared to LA, it cold and chilly. luckily I had a hoodie ready to wear after we got off the plane.

“Hey, Alyssa,” my auntie said surprised.she went back to the kitchen to wash her hands. I guess she was cooking. Me, my mom, and my dad walked in the house. I took out my shoes since my auntie like a clean house. I pushed my luggage to the living room where I saw my little nephs and nieces playing together. I saw two of my cousins and one other person. I swear she looked familiar. My auntie came out and she hugged my mom right away. My dad stood there shaking his head. My auntie was always the overexcited auntie.

“Hey helen, long time no see.” my dad said and auntie Helen noticed me and my dad.

“Hey mart, hey Joe. Long time no see.” my auntie said hugging me first. She hugged my dad after.

“Can you not call me joe please auntie,” I said embarrassed. I moved from away from Utah four years ago so it been a while since I been here. My auntie took a good look at me she was surprised.

“Have you been working out joe? You look good! Do you have a girlfriend?” my auntie attacked me with questions and my mom stopped her luckily.

“Helen, please we’re tired, just let joe see grandma and let him rest.” my mom said and auntie nodded.

“She is the living room joe.” at this point I just gave up on them calling me joe, I sighed.

“Thanks Auntie.” I said and my dad nodded. He grabbed my luggage to the stairs where we were staying. I walked to the living room and my two cousins noticed me as they were talking to my grandma.

“Hey, Joe.” rein my older cousin said as I sat next to her.

“Hey rein, hey grandma.” I put my hands together and looked at my grandma slowly looking at me. She was super weak because of her cancer. Also, I should mention she’s in a wheelchair.

“Hello Joe, how have you been?” my grandma looked at me with a smile. I gave my grandma a smile back.

“I have been good, how about you grandma dolly?” I asked. My grandma sighed and she leans back on her wheel chair.

“I have been good just in some pain. You look different. How are you bigger in size?” my grandma doesn't know about working out and staying healthy I guess.

“I’m staying healthy grandma dolly.” I said and ray jay or jay put his phone down on the coffee table.

“You work out right? You look good joe. Do you have a girlfriend now because of you workout?” jay asked and I just sighed. I knew my family was going to ask this coming here.

“I do, we’ve been dating for a month and a week now.” I pulled out my phone and pulled up a picture of me and Jen. Rein looked at the picture over my shoulder. She was surprised. I showed jay and he was surprised. The girl that looked familiar kept looking at me.

“Oh by the way that’s Michelle. Do you remember her?” rein sad looking at me and I just looked at the girl who was looking at me the whole time which was creepy. Then it hit me. Michelle was the childhood friend I grew up with and she was my first crush of course she rejected me when I asked during are middle school year. I’ll be honest, she was super pretty during the time. I moved during freshmen year so I did see him gain weight and now wear glasses. she wore contacts in the past. Maybe contacts got expensive for her.

“I remember Michelle, how you been.” Michelle put a fake smile on her face and just nodded.

“I been good, so you have a girlfriend? Shes pretty.” Michelle looked sad.

“How old is she?” my grandma asked and I just looked at my grandma surprised. Usually, she doesn't care about my life but this time around she cares. Maybe she cares for my future wife, I am 18.

“She’s also 18 grandma dolly. She’s my next door neighbor actually.” I just lean back on the couch. Rein, jay, and Michelle looked surprised. I just nodded as my grandma was just chilling on her wheelchair.

“Is that how you met?” jay questioned and I just shook my head.

“We met in school, she was cute and I knew I wanted her. I just fell for her personality. She a sweetheart and plus she good in bed since I’m teaching her.” I whispered the last part so my grandma don't hear. She had a sort of bad hearing. Once again all of them looked shocked.

“Bad boy, so you already lot it. Do your parents know?” jay asked with a smirk on his face I rolled my eyes.

“Of course.” I said and rein shook her head as he leans back on the couch.

“So they know you and your girl already..?” Michelle questioned and I just nodded. Michelle nodded.

“My parents are friends with hers so they know about our relationship. My girl also has a older brother too so yeah. He has a family himself, a wife and one-year-old baby.” I said. jay and rein nodded.

“That makes sense. You got a good one.” rein patted my shoulder and I shook my head.

“I’m tired, I’ll in a few hours. I need a nap.” I got up and my grandma looked at me.

“Have a good nap.” my grandma gave me a smile and I gave her back a smile.

“I will.” I walked away combing my hair back and I saw Michelle looking at me from her phone. I swear she just keeps looking at me. I walked up the stairs as my mom dad walked down talking to each other. My dad noticed me first before my mom.

“Taking a nop?” my dad questioned and I just nodded walking past them.

“Your room is at the end.” my mom yelled as they continued to walk down the stairs. I walked to the room at the end of the hallway. I walk in to see my luggage on my bed. I closed my door and sat on my new bed for the next week for so. I then got a text on my phone. I looked at it and it was from Jen.

Jean babe: “are you home now?” I put a smile on my face. I replied.

“I am, what are you too?” I waited for a while and I put my put on the bed. I got up and put my luggage on the ground. I started to pick out my pj’s to change into. Just then I got a text back. I opened it and I saw Jen sent me a picture of her after a shower. She had a towel around her body, f*****g hell.

“Babe, can you sent me one without the towel?” I questioned. I walked to my private bathroom in my room which i got lucky. I felt my boner in my jeans just as I think about Jen in a towel. I want to see her without the towel. I changed into my pj’s and I out my old clothes. I looked at my phone to see Jen sent another picture. I opened it and she was naked. Now I have to take care of my little friend that was one hundred percent up.

“Now I have something to look at when I’m in the mood.” I know she probably shook her head. I got a reply as I lay on the bed.

“Good so no need for face time?” I put a smirk on my face.

“For a while.” I put my covers on and turned on my lamp next to me. I clapped and also I forgot my house is electric in some ways. The lights turn off and I looked back at my phone and saw Jen texted back.

Jen babe: “good, I hope you're not too loud.” I scoffed.

“I’ll try.” I went back to the picture and saved it. luckily she didn't show her face. Now time to take care of my little friend.

I woke up from my nap a few hours later and I looked at my phone to see my boys texted me. I looked at the text.

The boys; Henry; “how does it feel being home?”

The boys: Danny: “did you get anything from Jen?”

The boys: Greg: “I bet your ass he did.”I groaned and replied.

“f**k off guys and yes I got something from my girlfriend.” I got up combing my hair back and got off the bed. I put my phone on the nightstand. I just walked to the bathroom and sighed. I splashed my face with cold water to wake me up. I dried my face and just walked out of the bathroom. I went to put on the same hoodie from before. I grabbed my phone and the boys texted back.

The boys: Danny: “Jen will never do such a thing but knowing you she sent one for once.”

The boys: Henry: “I agree with Dan here.”

The boys: Greg: “same here.” I rolled my eyes and just shook my head.

“Just this once.” I locked my phone as I walk down the stairs. I saw my mom and auntie talking in the kitchen. My mom noticed me first.

“Hey, sweetie.” my mom said and my auntie noticed me.

“Hey Joe, I heard about your girlfriend.” my auntie said looking at me with a smirk.

“Oh from rein and jay?” I questioned. Rein and jay are my auntie kids if you didn't get the hint already.

“They said she very cute and your mother told me that she’s a sweetheart. You should have brought her with you.” my aunite said looking my mom. I rolled my eyes.

“You can meet her next time auntie.” I said walked to the living room where my dad, rein, jay, Michelle are playing life. It still 5 pm so I have an hour before dinner. I joined in with my dad and the other as they ended a game.

(Jen's perspective)

“Good morning Jen.” Danny Said putting his arms over my shoulders. I looked up to see Danny on his phone. He was probably texting some girls.

“Morning Dan.” I closed my locker with my textbook on my chest and Danny looked at me examining my face. I was confused about why Danny was looking at my face.

“Were you crying last night?” Danny looked at me concerned. I just froze and scoffed.

“No! It has only been two days since Joey left, Plus I’m just stressed out.” I sighed and we walked to our first class. Danny looked more concerned.

“Stressed out? You miss him that much?” Danny questioned and I just sighed.

“Not really, we face time every night but it’s not the same as in person.” I said and Danny looked surprised. He chuckled as he removed his arm over my shoulder. He opened the classroom door and held it for me.

“I can see that, how his family life at the moment?” I walked into the classroom as Danny was right behind me. He closes the classroom door.

“He hates it. He met his childhood crush and she likes him back now. He said she got ugly in some ways without sounding rude.” Danny looked shocked as we got to our seats.

“What about his grandma? Is she doing fine?” Danny asked as I put my bag on my lap and textbook on my desk. I lean my elbow on my desk.

“She doing fine but she is in a lot of pain.” I looked at Danny as Danny nodded.

“I bet. So how about his habits?” Danny now had a smirk on his face. I just shook my head.

“He does it in the bathroom in his room so his cousins don't walk in on him. His room door doesn't have a lock.” I said putting a smirk on my face as I look at my phone. I saw I got a text from Joey.

Joey baby: “I miss you.” I put a smile on my face and Danny looks away knowing I got a text from Joey.

“What he say?” Danny Asked and looked at me. I just shook my head replying.

“Same here baby.” I locked my phone and turned to Danny still looking at me.

“He misses me of course, I’m sure you understand.” I put my phone in my bag on my bag as the teacher walked in. Danny just scoffed.

“It has been a while since I felt that way about someone.” Danny put his phone in his hood pocket. It has been two months since he broke up with Val. Val has been trying to get him back with Danny ever since she found out that he became popular and a player.

“I can see that.” I looked forward as I open my textbook for Are lesson.

Lunchtime came around real quick and I sat down at our lunch table. Harry was talking to Greg as me and Danny sat down with our trays. Herry noticed me first.

“Hey Jen, miss your boyfriend?” Harry had a smirk on his face. I sighed and put my bag on my lap.

“You know it but he’s the same. I’m sure you saw me texting him all day.” I side my tray to harry who I promise to got lunch for.

“Does he hate it that much?” Danny questioned and looked at me as he started to eat.

“Not really other than his cousins asking about me. They know how I look like and they want to meet me.” I Said and pulled out my phone. I saw another text from Joey.

Joey: “facetime?” I rolled my eyes.

“See you in class.” I patted Danny's shoulder and Danny looked at me confused.

“What happened?” Greg looked up from his phone. I put my bag over both my shoulders.

“Joey want to facetime. I guess his cousin want to hear my voice.” I walked to the door of the cafeteria. Harry looked up from eating.

“Good luck.” Harry Said and I waved to the boys. I walked to the front doors of the school and sat at the bench near the front doors. I FaceTimed Joey.

“Hello, babe?” Joey was in his bed in his room and he was shirtless of course.

“Your cousin there or you're just missing that much?” I questioned and joey chuckled.

“No, I just miss you. I want t to hear your voice and see you at the same time. “ I giggled and leaned back on the bench. I hug my bag near my chest.

“So what made you want to facetime?” I asked and joey went on his side.

“I know the time zone difference and I know its lunch time right now for you right now.” I was surprised. When I travel I don't know my time zone and I have to ask what time it is at the moment.

“You know your timezone well. I don't even know what time it is when I go back to Japan.” my mom has a sister that lives in Japan and she lives with her Japanese husband.

“Japan?” joey questioned.

“My mom sister lives in Japan. I’ll bring you next time but I don't think right now is a good time since we have school.” I said and Joey sighed.

“It not the same without you here. How are you doing without me beside you 24/7?” joey questioned and I just rolled my eyes.

“Obviously I miss you baby, so how many times have your cousins asked for me to facetime you with me?” joey scoffed and got up from his bed.

“I miss you too baby. They ask too much but I don’t too facetime you. They don’t know you have school or I don’t want to bother you.” Joey looked deep in my eyes through the facetime.

“Tomorrow is Wednesday, I have a doctors appointment and I can facetime you after?” I question and Joey looked surprised.

“Doctors appointment?” Joey looked at me concerned. I sighed knowing it not a problem for me but for him, it will be.

“You know how I’m naturally skinny? I eat a lot and you know that. My dad brings me to the doctor once a month to make sure I’m getting all my vitamins and I don’t have to take vitamins pills.” I said and Joey looked more concerned.

“You should eat more babe. I can help you with your meals if you want but that means you have to eat all the food.” Joey Said looking at me with a serious face. I knew this was going to happen.

“Baby-“ I was going to say something but Joey cut me off.

“Take me seriously babe. I want you to stay healthy.” Joey looked concerned again but serious at the same time. I sighed knowing that joey doesn’t joke around.

“Okay baby.” I looked at Joey with a smile agreeing. Joey looked at me with a smile back. I hate how joey is to care for me but it a good thing too.

“Good, For now, I’ll text your meals so your dad can cook them.” I rolled my eyes.

“Just text my dad that you know and he just cooks the meal you text him. I’m sure you have my parents number just in case?” I Said Joey nodded.

“If you say so babe, how much more time of lunch so you have?” Joey Asked and how got off his bed. He was in sweats pants.

“Is it cold in Utah? Also, I have 20 minutes left.” i asked and Joey walked to his bathroom. It looked clean, His family must be a clean family.

“You know it babe, it not as hot as LA.” I just shook my head. Of course it’s not hot in Utah at the moment. It is fall right now.

“So what do you want to talk about for 18 minutes?” I questioned and joey soghd and lean his phone on his bathroom wall on the counter.

“Let's talk about us and you coming here in Utah?” I was shocked. Me...go there?

“Joey? Are you serous? You have to talk to my parents about that.” i said confused. Joey chuckled and looked at me with a smile.

“I’m sure I want you to come. I’ll talk to my parents about this too. They’ll talk to your parents about it. I’m sure you’ll love Utah.” Joey had a smirk on his face and I just rolled my eyes.

“If my parents agree to this I’ll be shocked.” I put a smile on my face. If he makes this happen I’ll be shocked but I don't mind.

“I’ll be shocked too. Just hope it works out?” joey questioned. I just shook my head.
