20 | Christmas Traditions

1296 Words

20 Christmas Traditions –––––––– DEAR DIARY, Candy's family has a holiday tradition of eating a big turkey dinner on Christmas Eve. This year, me and Lucas decided we'd go along with her way. After all, she'd be doing all the cooking. No, that's not strictly true. Lucas agreed to peel anything that needed peeling, chop anything that needed chopping, and mash anything that needed mashing. I decided to stick around and see how it was done. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll have my own household with my own wife—Juniper?—and possibly even my own kids. If that happens, I'll definitely want to know how to dig all the gory stuff out of a turkey and replace it with good-tasting bread. I can't remember the last time me and Lucas were both in the kitchen together, helping to prepare a meal.
