CHAPTER 5: EXPOSED👽☠️☠️

It was lunch time, I was going to text Ethan and Nicholas but I totally forgot, I felt weird entering the restaurant with Nicholas but I kept it calm, we both got there and sat down "sorry guys, he said he was going to come all of a sudden"

" it's cool"Jasmine said, I knew Ethan was not happy We talked about a lot, Nicholas stayed quiet because I knew he was lost,he was not friends with us so he could not relate to what we were saying,in no time lunch break was over and we went back to work

I looked at myself one more time in the mirror, Nicholas told me to come out for an evening walk,I wore a jean trouser and a red shirt, my hair was in a pony tail and I went out,we both walked some distance from my house then sat down under a tree.he gave me chocolates and I was enjoying them but I was more curious of the things I said to him

"You said uncle adopted you"

My heart began to beat fast,even Ethan was not aware of that,only Zoey,dad and I looked at him,he was not looking at me"you said i was an ass"

I felt like fainting,if it were not chocolate,I would have lost my appetite"sorry " I said

"You have two moms and dad and my mom is a devil and I should run from her,we should actually..."this time he looked at me,I was speechless,I swore never to get drunk again

"You called me my Nicholas, and that you...." He paused,my heart began to beat,I looked at him expecting him to complete his statement,he turned to me and said" I want you to remember this part" he held my hand and looked straight in my eyes"in the room,you asked for a hug and I asked a question,you nodded and....."

My heart began to beat really fast,I closed my eye trying hard to remember" you also said something in the fields, something I want to hear right now from you please Paula try to remember " he said,I was scared

I breath in and tried hard to remember,the memories were kind of blurred but I had to try my best' the fields....the hotel' I said to myself trying hard to remember,he came closer and pecked my forehead 'oh no ' I said in my head as my eyes widened,I looked up breathing really fast

"I...I'm sorry .." I said

" You remembered?" He asked,he looked happy,I nodded"what exactly are you sorry for?" He asked

"I called you a mini devil"

"That's not what I want you to remember"he said.

"I know,I'm shy"I said and bowed my head,he chuckled and hugged me,I held him tightly too

"Was that the alcohol or you actually meant it?" He asked,I was scared,Mrs Donald would really be happy with this but it was not about the deal,I actually meant what I said the other night "I meant it" I said and released myself " but I'm sorry Nicholas this can't..I can't"

" My mom?" He asked"the contract?" He asked

I looked at him,I was tired of everything"Paula I'm here for you,she won't hurt you "

"Thank you Nicholas "I said tears were already dropping from my eyes,"shh" he said and cleaned the tears then he kissed me briefly"I'm here for you "

"The contract states that..."I was about to talk but he cut in

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to,it won't affect us"

"If you find out what it is you'll so mad that you heard it from someone else not me " I took a deep breath" I can't keep secrets from you and that's why I said no to us cause you'll be left so heart broken" .

" Is the contract that bad?" He asked,I nodded" I refused at first but I could not get the money from dad so I just had to"I was crying,I could not help it

Nicholas pov.

She looked so broken,I kept consoling her, feeling so bad for her,Mrs Donald was indeed a devil with no conscience"it stated that..."

"Shhh don't worry" I felt so happy that she trusted me and was going to tell me even though I knew...."I know,I saw the contract"I said,she released herself from me,she was so surprised

"How?"she asked curiously

I was going to mom's room one day and I heard her over the phone telling someone that she was going to get me a secretary to do the job.I was so eager to know and I planted a chip in her room and office,I could see all her text messages and I knew everything about the plan,I explained everything to Paula

"What?" She asked in surprise

"That was why I was so mean to you,I just did not grab that you did it for your dad and I never knew uncle was your dad",she kept looking at me with her teary eye" I already planned to get you drunk in mom's party from the beginning ,the initial plan was to make you confess,record,hand you over to the police,but I found out you were uncle Smith daughter so I understood your reason but then I was already falling for you and I was not ready to risk it then you said you loved me too and I was stunned,I was happy and now you even trust me enough to tell me" I said

She kept staring at me,I pulled her closer and I hugged her" let's just play along and enjoy ourselves,when it's time I have enough evidence to use against her"

Paula pov

I was just speechless,I remained in his arms,he was such a good actor, nobody would believe that he had the slightest idea of his mother's plan"what's her reason?" I asked curiously"she wants me to be broken,so she can be there to console me and I'll become vulnerable around her and trust her once again and get married to my former best friend,her ally,they both betrayed me" he explained

"That's evil" I said calmly

"It's a lot" he shook his head negatively "you owe me a story" he said

"Of?" I asked, looking up at him

"Your parents,your life,I have a lot to say too but another day cause you look so exhausted" he said and stood up,he pulled me up too" I have to get someone home,it's getting dark" we both walked home

I felt so relieved,I smiled while staring at my window,my family was free of Mrs Donald's threat,we had Nicholas to protect us from her.

Two months passed and things were really sweet between Nicholas and I,we both told dad and Zoey about the contract,they were both so disappointed and dad resigned from work, we all played along like nothing was happening,Mrs Donald called me once in a while to congratulate me for a work well done and warning me not to fall in love with her son,I always nodded my head smiling and walked out

I walked into Nicholas' office,he looked sad I sat on his lap and asked "hey you okay?"

"Molly is coming today,Mom just told me"

Molly was his best friend who betrayed him,the door opened and a lady walked in,she was wearing a black handless explosive short gown,she let her curly hair fly,she looked pretty

"Having an affair with your worker?" She asked feeling disgusted " that's unprofessional" she said

"She's my girlfriend and what happened to knocking before entering an office that's not yours?" Nicholas asked

" You don't look happy to see me baby" she complained

"First of all I am not your baby and secondly I am not happy so you can leave"

She rolled her eyes and walked away,she shook his head and I hugged him,I knew trouble had arrived for me,I just consoled myself that everything would be fine.

Nicholas and I were in my room,my head was on his leg and he was playing with my cheek

"Why do you hate Molly?"I asked curiously because she was once his best friend

"We were going to get married then she slept with Ethan"

"No" I said in disbelief and stood up" you sure about that?"

"Yeah,he always had a crush on her, and I saw the pictures of both of them together, just when I decided to forgive him for plotting with mom to get rid of me"

"Nichos,Ethan?"I was so surprised,Ethan would never do such a thing,Ethan always wondered why Nicholas hated him,I was very sure something was just not right

"Forget it Paula,I'm fine now"he said,I smiled and returned to my position,still wondering,I picked up my phone and texted Ethan to come,I hoped that the both of them would finally get to know the truth and reconcile

In less than an hour I heard a knock on the door"come in" I shouted,the door opened,Ethan and Jasmine walked it,I stood up"heyyy you guys are here" I pretended not to be surprised

"Yeahh Jasmine and I were bored so we decided to check you" Ethan said,I smiled at him and he smiled back,I was glad he understood and played along,they both sat on the bed and Jasmine asked "what next?"

"Paula you're bad at acting surprised and I saw the eye contact"Nicholas said,I was speechless "anyways I know why you called him here let him deny it"

"What are you talking about?"

"Jasmine I guess we should leave them alone" I said and stood up, ready to leave when Nicholas said "no stay with me"

I nodded and sat down obediently,I would have insisted but I did not want to get him mad,he called In dad and Zoey and we were all sitted curious about his next action

He looked at Ethan with pain in his eyes"the accident uncle Smith saved me from,don't you think you owe me an explanation?"

"I don't understand you Nicholas"

"You told me to get in that freaking car"

"Mom asked me to,she promised to let me go see my grandma if I convinced you to get inside,I swear I had no idea"Ethan defended himself, Nicholas nodded"and the pizza you ordered for me,my pet ate it and died Ethan,you knew how much I loved that dog"

Ethan was obviously confused"I don't get"

"When we were in California Ethan,I got a delivery with a note from you,an apology note where you apologized for plotting with mom against me"

"I swear I never sent anything to you,I didn't even know your house address mom wouldn't say"

Nicholas was obviously not in his right senses,his anger kept increasing "then that night,you and Molly?".

Ethan breath in,I got a text from her that she wanted to surprise you and she needed my help,I happily went because you knew I really wanted be friends with her,i got there and she offered me a drink I swear with my life Nicholas I don't know what happened next,when I called her the next day she denied ever meeting me,I can call her right now "Ethan said

"Well she admitted to sleeping with you when I saw the pictures,mom showed me,reminding what a bad brother you were "

"There's only one way to find out"Zoey said,we all looked at her"Nicholas text her to meet up, we'll take it from there"

It was evening already Nicholas got the same wine he used in getting me drunk,he booked a hotel room and designed it to give her the impression that they were getting back together,he proposed to her and she accepted,they both started drinking until she was totally wasted, Nicholas texted,just Ethan and I,we went in and Ethan spoke to her"hi Molly it's Ethan"he said

"Where the hell is Nicholas?"she asked

"He went out briefly,the other night was really fun,do you think we should arrange it again?"

"You i***t,you told brother about it,he broke off the engagement but guess what? She asked and flaunted the ring

"Why did you do it,hope you're happy,I can take more pictures now we're alone and show him"

"Don't you dare "she warned pointing at him with her index finger

"Then tell me,I promise it's our little secret "

"Promise "

"I promise "

"Well aunt asked me to do it,she needed something to use to blackmail you so you can leave all your properties to Nicholas and we'll be rich together and I did it,it's because of me that he's the heir to the company " she said,Ethan nodded"any other thing to say about you and mom's plan?"

"Ohhh yes mom made Smith sick,she wanted him to die during the surgery cause he found out that she caused the accident Nicholas had and she was planning more then she also decided to use his daughter to get Nicholas,she killed Nicholas' biological mom shhh she doesn't know I know this,I'll revenge after I get married to him,I tried saving her but she ran I doubt she'll survive the injuries though.she killed your dad too, and your mom too Ethan,your dad had an affair with his maid and they had you,she killed your mom and took you,and her brother and his family too,I never got their names and Paula's mom too "

Everybody was shocked,tears fell from my eyes,she caused my dad to get sick and made me sign a contract to get money for his treatment,I was so pissed

"And one more thing,your mom..."she was about to say then she slept off,they tried waking her but she refused to wake up, everybody was weak, nobody to console anybody,she killed all our mom, Nicholas stood up and hugged me,I was going to kill her,I felt like ripping her apart,Ethan removed the ring from her finger and called a cab to take her home,they deleted all the text messages she had with Nicholas to make everything seem like delusion, we went back home and Ethan explained everything to the dad, Jasmine and Zoey"oh no that woman is evil"

"We recorded everything Molly said but it's not strong evidence enough to bring her down,I'll keep investigating" Nicholas said

"Nicholas can you reinstate my allowance?"Ethan asked

"I never stopped it"he said"even though I was angry, you're still my brother and it's our dad's money not mine"

"Mrs Donald told you that you suspended it because I refused to study a course related to business,she took my favourite car and said you said so,I lived a horrible life after that Nicholas,that's why I came back here,I never had plans of doing that,I don't even have any share in the company,she made me belief the little I get is because of her pleads"

"Damn it!! She's evil,mom and I never discussed anything about you,if I asked she always reminded me the kind of brother you were"Nicholas said,we were all drained,we were determined to bring her down.
