The saleswoman at the shoe shop dropped off a cart full of options with Mila, letting her know to give a holler if any of them needed anything before giving the some time to browse their choices. It was at this time Karine returned, her arms overflowing with fashionable sports shoes for her friend to choose from. "Okay," she huffed, relieved as Alexi rushed over to start taking boxes from her and setting them down. "I don't see a lot of people wearing green, but I thought it would be a nice to compliment to this top I saw that would look good on you, and there's tons of different styles so you can see which ones you like, and we can go from there," she stated, grabbing a box and handing it to Mila. Her eyes lit up as she opened it. The shoes were a really soft green color with a checkmark on them, and hints of white at the bottom. "Ooh these are cute," she responded, looking up at her friend with a smile, so far liking her taste. She had thought Karine's outfits were cute, even if they were a little more girly than something she would choose to wear. The girls finished deciding on shoes with rare input from the men who stood between them and the door as they watched the shop alertly. While they were glad the girls were having fun, the two of them were still working. The sales woman then returned with another set of choices for Mila as the girls gave their feedback. It'd taken over an hour, but they'd finally gotten what Karine and Mila deemed enough shoes for any occasion and started making their way towards the next store as Zeno dropped their bags off in the car. It had been so long since Mila had gotten to even wear clothes, and she was nervous she would look ridiculous in the things she picked out. Seeing his Alpha bite her lip nervously, Alexi saw this as his chance to try to be and show his Alpha a bit of his more friendly side. "Don't worry Alpha, you made some great choices. They're very respectable," he finished, making sure to add that last part as he'd heard her mention to Karine she wanted to be sure they'd go with the "respectable Alpha outfits" she intended to buy. Mila smiled at him, relief washing over her face as Karine fell back and linked an arm through hers, providing further support. "Thank you Alexi, I appreciate you being with us today. Honestly I was feeling really nervous about being around all these people, but having you guys here really helps." Her time with Karine had really helped her settle down, and she was mostly getting over being awkwardly formal. If things kept up at this pace, she might even be joking around with them by dinner. The three of them made their way into a clothing shop next, Zeno catching up and taking a seat next to Alexi to wait on the couches provided as the girls made their way into the dressing rooms, each with arms brimming with clothes. The first thing they did was figure out Mila's size, trying on some of the business casual dresses she and Karine had selected, then deciding which ones fit most comfortable. After finding herself very confused, holding three size 6 dresses, two size 7 dresses, and one in a size 5, Mila stood in the middle of the changing rooms feeling overwhelmed as Karine tried to explain the horrible sizing system. Deciding to just continue the way they'd been doing it, the girls made four more trips from the floor to the changing room, much to the men's dismay. After being dragged to four more clothing stores, two jewelry stores, a makeup shop, some store that overwhelmed their noses with perfumes and scented body washes, currently being trapped in a*****e with enough decoration stuff for a whole mansion, and having made at least a million trips to the car to drop off bags, the boys were both whining and complaining for the last fifteen minutes when Karine finally snapped. "Oh jeeze, just shut up already! I think we're almost done, so quit being big babies and let Mila enjoy herself." Rolling her eyes, she turned back around help Mila finish getting the last of the decorations for her bedroom and bathroom as she turned and gave the boys an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry guys, I had no idea this would take so long, or I would have suggested we go in the morning." "Don't worry about it Alpha, we're sorry for being so rude. This is your time too, and I hope we haven't been spoiling it for you," Zeno said sincerely, that same look on his face that Mila still couldn't decipher as she looked at the two. "Not at all, it's nice having someone to carry the bags," she replied teasingly. The afternoon had well turned to night, and they'd spent a majority of the time laughing and telling jokes, though it had taken a while for Mila to get comfortable with the men, and for them to stop acting so much like body guards. Another twenty minutes went by, and they were finally checking out, much to the relief of the tired shopkeepers who were lingering around just before close. They were finally done, Mila having spoiled everyone in her entourage with far more than they were comfortable with, despite their protests, also getting a bunch of shoes for Lada as a thank you for loaning out hers. She even bought everyone in the pack a $50 gift card to be used anywhere in the mall. "Well I don't know about you guys, but I am absolutely starving," Mila announced as she and Karine shoved their way into the middle seats of the car, still finding themselves crammed among bags, despite having put the back seat down for more room. "Where would you guys like to go to eat?" They'd intended on eating in the food court, but it turned out buying an entire wardrobe for the equivalent of a queen was a rather time consuming task. "Is McDonalds alright with everyone? We can go through the drive through," Zeno suggested as he climbed in the driver's seat this time. Everyone voiced their agreements, and he quickly made his way to the highway, pulling into a McDonald's a few exits down. They ended up ordering so much food that they could practically feel the cashier's eyes bulging out of her head as she took the order, and with their excellent hearing, they were able to hear the kitchen workings complaining about them in the back. It didn't worry them too much, until they pulled up to the window and heard the girl with the headset call the Karine and Mila "sugar babies," throwing them and their shopping bags a dirty look as she walked away. Both men growled, Karine's face darkened, and Mila looked around at the three, confused. "Why are you guys so mad?" The men growled again, their eyes going black and the pair closing them tightly so the humans wouldn't notice the change when they opened the window. Karine filled Mila in on the meaning, and Mila too growled once she understood. Right then, the window opened and they were handed their two drink holders full of shakes and sodas, followed by their food. "Pull around to the doors and keep the car running," Mila ordered. Zeno looked confused, but did as his Alpha requested. From where the car was parked, they had a clear view through the front of the store and over to the area where the drive through cashier that had been rude to them was. Mila picked up a chocolate shake, glad she'd ordered an extra one, before throwing the car door open and practically sprinting to the door. The lobby was thankfully still open, much to Mila's excitement. Rage bubbled up in her further as she entered the shop. While she was angry the girl's assumption, Mila would have just let it go if it had only been directed at her, but calling Karine that crossed a line in Mila's mind that just set her off. Her eyes darkening the more she thought about it, Mila made her way around the counter and up to the offending cashier. Then she dumped the milkshake all over her head. The cashier screamed, snickers and laughs broke out from her coworkers, someone yelled "World Star!", and the manager just looked on in shock as Mila returned to her car where her friends were in tears with laughter. "Oh my god" *gasp* "I can't believe-" *gasp* "-you did that!" Karine shouted as Mila climbed in and Zeno started to speed off. "That was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time." "I don't mind people talking s**t on me, but no one is going to disrespect my friends and get away with it." The air thickened a bit, the other three wolves a little shocked as their Alpha openly accepted them for the first time. After a pregnant pause, Zeno was the one to clear the air as he laughed. "Well I definitely won't be picking on you anytime soon." The tension in the air instantly seeped out as Mila laughed, the other wolves soon joining in. "Yeah, because you know I'd kick your butt," Mila teased, following it up by sticking her tongue out at him. Zeno simply laughed again. "Bring it on, Alpha," he shot back, making eye contact with her through the rear view mirror. Their eyes met as Mila's smile grew and one slipped on Zeno's face as well. It was good to see his Alpha loosening up, and he felt a surge of pride flow through him knowing he had been a part of that. The group had waited to eat until they had gotten home, and they all gathered at the dining table with Dimitri and Lada, who Karine had invited while the group was on the ride home. Lada's eyes widened as Mila continued handing her pair after pair of shoes after returning the ones she'd borrowed. "I can't accept all this," she started, but Mila wave a hand through the air to cut her off. "Nonsense, you showed me kindness before even properly meeting me, and I sincerely appreciate that. I want everyone in the pack to know they're appreciated, so get used to it, because this is just the start." The two shared a warm smile, and the group finished their meal together. After finishing, Dimitri and Lada headed up to bed, Alexi, Karine, and Zeno staying behind to help Mila carry everything up to her room, despite her protests. Tired a secretly sore from walking for hours against the doctor's orders, Mila was greatful for the help. Mila was too tired to set anything up that night, and the group settled for putting all the bags in one of the walk in closets. Mila thanked them for their help, plopping onto her bed with a sigh. "Man I'm exhausted. Today was a lot of fun though. Thank you everyone," Mila said, sitting up and looking at her friends sincerely. She really had a blast, and was looking forward to another outing with them in the future, hopefully including Dimitri and Lada. Taking the hint, the other three nodded, turning towards the door. "Hey guys," Mila called out before her friends could walk away. "Yes, Alpha?" they asked, turning back around. "I really did have a great time today, thank you again for coming out with me." A large smile erupted on Karine's face, and she impulsively wrapped the Alpha in a hug. "I'm so glad we're friends now!" she chirped, before feeling Mila tense in her arms. Karine's muscles tensed as well, worried she had overstepped her boundaries and preparing to pull away when she was shocked to feel Mila's hands on her back as she returned the hug. "I'm glad we are too." Both girls were smiling as they separated, and Karine turned back to her mate and their friend who were patiently waiting in the doorway, a smile on their faces as well. "Oh one more thing," Mila called, stopping the group once more. "Yes, Alpha?" they asked, turning back again. "Please, call me Mila."
