I watch Rachel as she makes her way away from me, my mind whirling as her words replay themselves again and again.
I pissed someone off, and that someone was close to Alpha Chris. Wasn’t Austin and William and their mother the ones closest to him? Who was it that I pissed off?
Frowning, I feel a chill race down my spine as I feel as though the one I pissed off was watching me right this minute even though I knew that I was alone.
“No,” I hiss, snapping out of it. “You can’t believe everything that girl says. Especially when you know that she doesn’t like your relationship with William.”
I was certain that this was just another one of Rachel’s tricks to try to separate us. And if I fell into it, that would simply make me a fool.
