Chapter 6: Call Me by My Name

'That's it? They're leaving?' Zion snapped back to reality and was about to chase after them in his car. 'That girl wouldn't try to run away again, would she?' Luke's tall figure blocked Zion's way. "There's no need for you to go, Mr. Smith. I will supervise on behalf of the Murphy family." At the clerk's office, Julius stopped the car. Maeve glanced at the imposing motorcade behind them through the rearview mirror and muttered in disgust, "The Murphy family has been haunting us like a bunch of ghosts. Don't tell me they won't give up until they witness the entire marriage registration process?" Julius turned off the engine and asked provocatively, "Regretting it now?" Hah! She was "Maya" now. Why would she regret anything? Maeve instantly responded, "Don't be ridiculous. How could I possibly regret it?" She couldn't regret it; otherwise, she wouldn't be able to get the money from Zion to treat Grandma. Besides, it was not easy to meet such a handsome and kind-hearted man, she was the one benefitting here. Julius pushed open the car door and got out, directly tossing his birth certificate and ID to Luke, who had caught up. "Since you guys are so worried, then you go handle it!" Luke hurriedly caught them and nodded repeatedly, "That would be for the best!" Then he realized that his attitude was a bit too subservient out of reflex, so he immediately straightened his back. "Ahem, of course! We have to give Mr. Murphy an explanation, we must personally handle this to determine the authenticity of the matter." Except for taking pictures, Luke took care of all the procedures. What else could he do? He had to cooperate with his boss to act for the future mistress! A few minutes later, a fresh marriage certificate landed in Maeve's hand. She looked at it with some curiosity and looked at it. Maya Smith, Amour Yor. "Wow, so your name is Amour? It's a nice name!" "Cough... Cough, cough!" Luke couldn't help but cough violently. "Ms. Smith, since you are now married, Mr. Murphy will not bother you anymore. We wish you happiness!" Maeve smiled playfully. "Thank you! Please also wish your Young Master a speedy recovery and that he finds a cure for his illness soon!" Luke secretly glanced at his master beside him and twitched the corner of his mouth. "I'll be sure to pass that along! Well, we won't disturb you any longer. We'll report back now!" "Okay!" As soon as Maeve got into the car, the man's disgusted voice came from beside her, "You're smiling like an idiot." She turned to look at him and saw Julius looking at the photo on the marriage certificate. Maeve pointed at Julius in the photo, disagreeing, "This is a wedding photo, okay? Look at you, you look as serious as if it were a posthumous photo!" "Sharp-tongued," Julius said. "You too." Maeve retorted. Julius narrowed his eyes at her and decided not to argue with the little girl. He stretched out his hand, "Give me your phone." "Ah? Oh." Maeve unlocked her phone and handed it to him. Julius entered a series of numbers, pressed dial, and only after hearing his own phone ring did he hang up. He typed a few words and returned the phone to Maeve. "My number." Maeve took the phone and subconsciously glanced at the screen. Contact - "Hubby" 'Ugh. This guy is getting into character even faster than I am.' Maeve's face flushed slightly as she put away her phone. "Um, Mister, there's something I think we need to talk about, even though it's a bit late now." "Call me by my name!" Julius said in a tone that brooked no argument. Maeve choked, "Mr. Yor..." "Name!" "Fine! Amour! Amour! Are you happy now?!" Maeve rolled her eyes silently. 'You love hearing your own name so much; later, I'll record it on a loudspeaker and play it on repeat for you!' However, why did the name sound weirder the more she said it? The corners of Julius's mouth curled up in satisfaction. "Good, go on." Maeve looked at him ingratiatingly, "Although we are husband and wife on the marriage certificate now, we've only just met... In order to give each other space to get to know one another, shouldn't we sign a prenuptial agreement?" "You want to go back on your words now?"
