It was weird how the rogues just pulled back and left so quickly when it seemed they were determined to get to Zadie. Luckily, I have men I trust that not only look out for me but for Zadie as well. We all worked together to keep her safe, and luckily, she was still here. It looks like we didn't lose anyone, which I am thankful for.
But Donovan, well, he lost his mate. He had to kill her to keep Zadie safe, but I knew he didn't regret his decision. I just wish it wasn't him who had to do it. That's going to take some time to get over. No matter how unaffected he said he is. I'll help him through this later. Right now, I need to deal with Zadie. What was she thinking?
