These last six months have been so hard. Zadie was gone, and Rex was depressed and buried himself in trying to locate Zadie. But who could blame him? She was his mate after all.
He came clean one night when I found him in his office. I was coming home late from class and thought everyone had long since gone to bed, but I saw his light on. I went to check on him and found him, with a tear-streaked face sitting behind his desk. I don't know if it was out of embarrassment that he told me the truth or what, but somehow, it made me that much more confident that we'd find her.
But it's been six long months and nothing.
