(Jason's POV) Everything happens at once and in slow motion. Caroline moves. I see her lunge toward Charlie before my brain can process what she's doing. "Caroline, wait—" Too late. She's already crossing the space. Already grabbing Charlie. Already yanking him away from Helen. Helen stumbles. Arms windmilling. Knife clattering to the floor. Caroline has Charlie.
