(Caroline's POV)
Aiden shows up that evening, his face dark with fury.
"I saw the latest interview," he says. "Samuel's claiming you abandoned Charlie for Jason. He's saying you're an unfit mother."
"I know."
"This is bullshit, Caroline. Someone needs to shut him up."
"Mom is handling it—"
"Mom is being too nice. Too legal." Aiden paces the living room like a caged animal. "Samuel needs to understand he can't just destroy you like this."
"Aiden, don't do anything stupid—"
But he's already heading for the door.
"Aiden!" I run after him. "Please. Don't make this worse."
"How could it possibly be worse?" He turns to face me. "You're being crucified in the press. Charlie is being affected. And Samuel is getting away with all of it!"
"Then let mom handle it in court! Don't—"
