“This isn’t over,” Seojun spat, blood dripping from his mouth. “I’ll be back for her. And for you.”
With that, he vanished into the night, leaving Jihoon and Eunji in the wreckage of what had once been her safe haven.
Jihoon turned to Eunji, his expression softening. “Eunji, I’m so sorry. I didn’t want you to find out like this.”
Eunji stared at him, her body trembling. “What are you?”
Jihoon took a step closer, his heart breaking at the fear in her eyes. “I’m a vampire, Eunji. But I would never hurt you. I promise.”
Eunji’s eyes filled with tears, her mind reeling from the revelation. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I was afraid,” Jihoon admitted. “Afraid you would be scared, that you would hate me.”
Eunji shook her head, tears spilling down her cheeks. “I could never hate you, Jihoon. But I need time to process this. To understand.”
Jihoon nodded, his heart heavy. “Take all the time you need. I’ll be here, waiting for you.”
As Eunji retreated to her bedroom, Jihoon sat alone in the wreckage of her apartment, his mind racing. Seojun’s threat hung over him like a dark cloud, and he knew that their battle was far from over.
But no matter what came next, Jihoon was determined to protect Eunji. Even if it meant facing the darkness of his own past, he would do whatever it took to keep her safe.
