“Just be careful,” Jihoon said, his voice low.
Eunji frowned but nodded. “Okay, I will.”
The man in the corner watched their exchange with a smirk. Jihoon’s unease grew, and he decided to stay until closing time. As the night deepened, the café emptied, leaving Jihoon and the stranger as the last customers.
When Eunji announced that they were closing, the man stood and approached the counter. “I’ll be leaving now,” he said, his voice dripping with insincerity. “But I’ll be back.”
Jihoon stepped forward, placing himself between Eunji and the man. “Good night,” he said, his tone firm.
The man’s eyes flickered with something dark. “Good night,” he replied before walking out into the night.
Eunji sighed in relief once the door closed. “That guy was creepy.”
Jihoon nodded. “I think you should be careful. If you see him again, call the police.”
Eunji smiled, though it didn’t reach her eyes. “Thanks, Jihoon. You always look out for me.”
Jihoon returned the smile, but his mind was already racing. He couldn’t shake the feeling that this was only the beginning of something dangerous. As he walked Eunji to her apartment, he vowed to protect her, no matter the cost.
Little did he know, the man in the dark coat was just a pawn in a much larger game. And as the moon cast its silver light over Seoul, the pieces were already moving into place, setting the stage for a confrontation that would change everything.
