Eunji reached out, placing her hand on his. “I trust you, Jihoon. Whatever it is, I want to understand.” Jihoon took a deep breath, his resolve wavering. “It’s not something you can just understand overnight. It’s... centuries of history, of hiding who I am.” Eunji’s eyes widened, curiosity and concern mingling in her gaze. “What do you mean?” Before Jihoon could respond, a loud crash shattered the quiet, followed by the sound of breaking glass. Jihoon was on his feet in an instant, his senses heightened. He could hear footsteps approaching, too light to be human. “Stay behind me,” he whispered to Eunji, moving towards the source of the noise. The window in the kitchen had been shattered, shards of glass scattered across the floor. Jihoon’s eyes scanned the darkness, catching a glimpse of movement. A shadow detached itself from the wall, revealing a figure dressed in black. “Jihoon,” the intruder sneered, his voice familiar and filled with malice. “It’s been a long time.” “Seojun,” Jihoon growled, positioning himself between Eunji and the threat. “What are you doing here?” Seojun stepped forward, his grin revealing elongated fangs. “I’ve come to collect something that belongs to me.”
