Cheer

AMY Cheer practice was excruciating. Not only because all I could think about was Ryan, but because the girls were obsessively interrogating me about the hickeys on my neck. I’d tried to conceal them again this morning, but clearly hadn’t done a good enough job. I was pretty well known for never being interested in anyone, so this was apparently very exciting news. They needed more hobbies. I sighed and took a deep drink of my water as I watched them socialize. We were taking a break for the moment. Lucy had managed to distract most of them with some tiktoks. Susan popped up next to me, grinning conspiratorially. “So! Tell me all about it,” she whispered, so as not to get everyone else’s attention. Giselle appeared on my other side. “Don’t try to gloss over anything,” she warned.  I tightened my ponytail nervously. “I mean there isn’t much to say…” I said. Susan rolled her eyes. “Start with who it is!!” Giselle hissed. I hesitated, remembering what Susan had said about Giselle wanting him, then sighed. I couldn’t hide it forever anyway. Ryan and I had decided to keep it fairly quiet- not a secret, but not announcing it- to avoid drama. Also I was a horrible liar and everyone knew it… so trying to keep it a secret wouldn’t be wise. “It’s Ryan,” I murmured quietly, so only they could hear me. Giselle froze for a moment, then launched into a thousand questions. “Oh my god!” she squealed. “I thought you guys were just friends? He looked sooo yummy at the party I don’t even blame you. I could’ve eaten him right up. When did that happen? Are you dating now? Was he a good kisser? Did you see his d**k? Oh my goodness! Is he good in bed?” “Giselle!” I squeaked, trying to quiet her down. A few of the girls glanced over at us curiously, but didn’t walk away from Lucy. “We were just friends- it started during lunch on Friday. Yes, we’re dating now. We’re trying not to make a big thing about it,” Susan squealed and clapped her hands excitedly. I hesitated. “And yes to all of the above,” I added as quietly as possible. Giselle giggled. “Is he big? Did it hurt?” she whispered. “Yes, he is. I don’t know yet,” I blushed. “We didn’t f**k, just had oral s*x. A lot.” “’Just’ had oral s*x,” Susan snorted. “Since when do you do that with anyone?” I blushed. “There was that guy I dated freshman year-“ I started. “You had oral s*x with John?” Susan asked with a raised eyebrow. “Well, no,” I admitted. I’d barely kissed the guy- he had asked me out and I’d said yes to be nice. It didn’t last very long. “That’s what I thought,” Susan laughed. “I think Ryan would have killed John if you had.” “I did give John’s friend a blowjob at a party,” I admitted. Susan’s eyebrows shot up. “Ryan never heard about it.” “Amy!” Giselle sounded scandalized. “Sophomore year. After our breakup,” I added quickly. I changed the subject. “How come everyone else seemed to know he was interested except me?” I whined. “Why didn’t you tell me?” “I didn’t think it needed to be said,” Susan shrugged. “I figured if Ryan wanted to do something about it, he’d do it. Besides, you didn’t even realize you wanted him until a month ago. Why would I have sabotaged your friendship?” she asked. “I guess that’s fair,” I grumbled. It was true enough that I probably would’ve panicked if Susan had said anything before this past month. But I did think I’d have gotten over it pretty quick. It wouldn’t have ruined things. I’d always thought he was cute, if nothing else. My mind drifted to Ryan’s face. That jawline, those eyes, his crooked smile, the way his dark hair fell in front of his face. And god, his body was perfect. My hands ached to run over his muscles again. I sighed. I’d have freaked out, but probably wouldn’t have been able to resist the thought of kissing him. Even before I’d realized I wanted to date him, there were times where I found myself thinking about his lips too deeply or staring into his eyes just a little too long. Of course, Susan couldn’t have known that. “Earth to Amy,” Susan said, waving her hand in front of my face. I blinked and refocused on her. “We lost you for a second there. I wonder what you possibly could have been thinking about.” Her eyes sparkled teasingly. Giselle giggled. I blushed. God, I was an i***t.
