Ava's heart pounded as Alessandro's gaze held hers. The city lights blurred around them, leaving only the two of them.
"Alessandro, what do you want?" Ava asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Alessandro's eyes darkened, his jaw clenched.
"I want freedom," he said, his voice laced with desperation. "From my family's expectations. From the secrets and lies."
Ava's empathy stirred. She sensed the depth of his emotions.
"What secrets do you hide?" she asked, her curiosity genuine.
Alessandro's face inches from hers, his breath against her skin.
"Secrets that could destroy everything," he whispered. "My family's reputation, our business...everything."
Their lips brushed, sending shivers down Ava's spine. She pulled back, her heart racing.
"Alessandro, stop," Ava said, her voice firm but gentle.
Alessandro's eyes flashed with desire, his face inches from hers.
"Why?" he asked, his voice husky. "You feel it too, don't you?"
Ava's heart pounded. She couldn't deny the attraction.
"I'm not here for that," she said, maintaining her disguise.
Alessandro's gaze lingered, then pulled back.
"You're right," he said, his voice laced with regret.
As they stood there, Ava realized her mission had just gotten complicated. Her feelings for Alessandro threatened to compromise her objective.
"Jonas, I need guidance," Ava whispered into her earpiece.
"Report, Ava," Jonas replied.
"Alessandro's getting too close," Ava said. "I'm struggling to maintain my cover."
"Maintain your focus, Ava," Jonas said. "Gather intel, but don't compromise your safety."
Ava nodded, her eyes locked onto Alessandro's.
"I won't," she whispered.
Alessandro's expression softened.
"Trust me, Ava," he said. "I won't hurt you."
Ava's heart skipped a beat. Could she trust him?
