It was a new day, sunlight peeking through the thin curtains of Sarah’s apartment. Her living room, still faintly smelling of Taylor’s cologne, felt heavy with the weight of last night. She sat at the edge of the couch, her phone buzzing loudly on the coffee table. It startled her. Looking at the screen, she saw the name: Mother-in-law.
