"So, are things getting serious between you and Nina?" I ask Nick as we stand side by side, watching the girls play with Marshall's puppies on the grass.
A warm smile spreads across his face. "I think so. I mean, just look at her. She's amazing - and I'm not just talking about her looks, even though she's stunning. She's sweet, loving, and smart."
"Wow, you're really smitten, my friend. So, I guess it's just a matter of time before you are off starting a family and getting married." I watch Nina snuggle with a puppy – she and Nick truly make a perfect couple.
"Afraid of being left alone?" He glances at me. "Nothing's certain yet. I'm not sure what she's ready for, considering she lives far away. Maybe we will stay here and build a small house by the river."
