The next day, life continued. In the afternoon, she didn't come for her lesson. I needed someone to talk to since home was quiet. I called a long term female friend of mine- Anita, who like Dami came to Akure from Lagos. The only difference is she came to Akure not long ago. She(Anita) promised to come later and I thanked her. She always knew how to make me laugh. Around 4 that same day, Anita came around. I hugged her, we talked and talked. While talking, she said something funny happened to her. She said she bumped into a lady while she was coming. I was surprised and said sorry. She waved that and said the girl was coming from our door. "Our door?" I asked. "Yeah" she answered. "Well , no lady came here. I was in throughout" I answered.. She looked at me and after a while said alright. While she kept on talking, my mind was fixed on the lady who came. Could the lady be Caroline? She hates me for real. She said so. I should move on. The next day, Mum and sister came back.  Afterwards, I began to buy things because school was resuming soon. I saw her on the street atimes whenever I go out and we would do like we don't know each other. It wasn't easy at first but after a while, it became really normal. I was planning to travel the next day. My mum, sister and I were eating dinner when we had a knock. Shocked, my mum asked me to gently open the door. As a man, I tried to calm them down but deep down, I wasn't calm. I was shivering.I went to the door, asked who was there and the sound I heard next was absurd. I heard a little boy's voice. I opened the door and looked down straight.."Hey!"I said looking at the boy who I know is Caroline's brother. Then, I looked up, saw her and her mum. I greeted her mum and asked them to enter.
