As the journey progressed, I talked to no one. A times, I would move my leg to accommodate the baby. People began to sleep. I was forced to sleep but the stern warning I received from my mum kept me awake. "You need to be cautious while travelling. Someone has to watch over the driver. Do not sleep" She said earlier. Moments later, memories flooded in- my mum's and my sister's. I was really going to miss them. My mum told me she would be traveling atimes so she won't be bored. Although she was old enough to take care of herself, I was still worried about her. I was used to being the man of the house. Then the thought of Caroline came in. I have tried my best to keep her off my mind but being in the bus, lonely brought her back. Its been five months since I have known her and four out of it has been annoying. The girl is something else. I scrolled through my contacts and I was surprised to see that I didn't have her number. Just then, my mum called. She talked and advised me again and prayed for me. My responses were low because Nigerians hardly mind their own businesses.
After two hours, we got to Ibadan. The city was too big. I was waiting for us to reach the garage because my butt was paining me. We got to Iwo road and I boarded a whole cab to UI. The journey was stressful but the ecstasy of resuming school was all over me. I entered my allocated room, dropped my luggage and screamed. I ran around the room and after a while came back to my senses. I cleaned the room and was arranging my stuffs when my mum called again. This was her seventh time in four hours. Mums are really caring. We talked for about thirty minutes. I did the talking ( talking about the journey, school, room and all). Most of the time she said oh! And wow! She released me and told me to finish arranging.
Not long after, I saw a number calling me. I picked and said "hello". A voice responded and I asked who it is. The voice answered " It is me, Caroline". I was shocked!!
