12 By the time we got home from the fair, the kids were worn out and crashed hard. I grabbed my phone and opened up a new book and poured myself a large glass of wine. I curled up in a chair near the dark fireplace and covered my legs with a light blanket. It was quiet in the house with Gina already asleep and Gavin and Piper not home. I took a deep breath and enjoyed the quiet for a minute.
