A Name For Outcasts

**11 years later**Heaven** The sounds of swords clashing against one another filled the air across the training wing of the heavens. Future soldiers were expected to train hard and be the very best example for the queen. The child of a war, who was commonly now known as Cerberus, was now up for his chance to fight for a spot on the queen's finest guards. He was the youngest one there. An arena like ground that was covered in the blood soaked sand of those who weren't good enough and risked their lives to prove themselves worthy. It put no fear in the boy's eyes as he walked past it like he had seen nothing at all. A smile crossed his face as he had a clear view of the queen and her beloved daughter sitting down. There were a dozen of expendables surrounding them. Soldiers ready to give their life for theirs if something were to happen. He glanced away and looked back, catching sight of his best friend who stood not far behind him. Artolis gave a gleeful wave and even bounced a little showing his gleeful nature. Cerberus nodded back at him and chuckled as he took another look up.          He smiled at the queen with a bow before lifting his head a little and winking at the princess, Lady Artemis-Fitzroy. The queen, Lady Raina Fitzroy, gave him a silent glare before elegantly standing by her giggling daughter. "We come to our 19th trial of the day. Cerberus, You are our youngest competitors, because of that I will grant you these special options. If you do not wish to continue you may leave now. If you are too injured or scared to battle anymore, come forth and I will allow you to go shamelessly." He looked around as bravery and  determination glazed his green eyes. With a small swift motion he pulled his white hair back and stood. He spoke up for the dead silent arena to hear. "I shall be proceeding, Ms. Fitzroy." She nodded before waving her hand. "As you wish. Please begin."           Cerberus looked down from Lady Raina as the gate that rested far under their seats opened. The large door clanked open as it lifted to reveal another warrior. He approached looking to be twice the age of Cerberus. He had his sword gripped loosely in his hand. He was built from doing years and years of training that was much more intricate and careful than Cerberus'. Cerberus looked him up and down with care. The male approached him as they stood face to face. Still not a glimpse of fear in Cerberus' eyes. "I am sorry little one," The warrior spoke before taking a breath and raising his sword, "You should leave. I would not want you to meet your end he-" Before he could finish, Cerberus had made the first move. He was quick with his movements as he took a step back before jumping into the air. He shifted himself into a back flip as his foot met the warriors chin and kicked off his helmet. With that the warrior was dazed. Cerberus landed and took his advantage immediately as he got a 3 step running start and lunged his head into the warrior's chest leaving him winded and confused. Cerberus gripped his sword tighter as his hands glowed green. He closed his eyes for a moment before he stood up straight and opened them to reveal they glowed as well.          Small beads of air began to turn green around him. They were energy beads. He pulled this energy from anything that was around him and used this extra energy to boost his Strength, Power, Speed or any advantage he could take at the moment. When they touched him faded and absorbed into his body. "Your under estimation of me was the end of you. You have no idea why I'm here." The warrior gripped his sword tighter. "I'm not dead yet you little-" again, before finishing what he had to say, Cerberus was already in motion. His movements were too fast to see as he ended up past the male with his back facing him. His hands, sword and face splattered with blood. The silence only grew as everyone lied in wait for the final results of the match. The male stood silent before falling straight forward and leaking dark red blood onto the yellow sand. Cerberus whispered to himself. "I'm not here for you." With nothing left to do or say he looked up at the crowd in wait of their reaction. Nothing. No one had anything to say and the tension only grew. Lady Raina took a silent stand as she raised her hand. "Winner. Cerberus...What's your last name ,dear?" He looked up at her as his glow faded and the remaining energy flow was absorbed into his body.          He opened his wings and with one mighty flap he took off towards the balcony. Cerberus just so happened to be second best on his flight team. His flight time lies right under Lady Artemis'. He flapped and hovered right in front of them not able to land due to all the weapons in his face. He ignored them. "Ma'am, I am Cerberus Tabbris I am the son of Gabriel Tabbris, Your General and Sophia Tabbris, A soldier under his command." He said as he bowed his head. Lady Artimas leaned over her mother and gave a smile that could warm the hearts of anyone to Cerberus. "You did well. I knew  you would." He smiled back at her with the same warmth she gave. He looked back at Lady Riana and bowed his head again. "May I land?" He asked as Lady Raina nodded and the guards around her lowered their weapons. "You are very brave and skilled which has been proven over the years of training. That man was very skilled and trained for a longer time. Yet again, I am surprised with how well you handle yourself. You've earned your spot on my guard." He quickly lifted his head. "Ma'am, As much as it is my dream to be on your guard I will not proceed if Artolis, My fellow soldier and competitor, does not join my side." She frowned and leaned down to him. "You have so much potential. You alone could climb to the top of my gourd in no time. You'd forfeit the opportunity if your friend can not join you?" Cerberus looked down at his feet and looked for answers before he nodded. "That is correct." She stood once again and sighed, "He too will have to prove himself then."          Artolis stepped out of the gate that had been lowered for him as he looked up at Cerberus who watched him from the queens side. Artolis was not like Fell. From his looks it could be told that he wasn't as strong as Fell. His hair was dirty blonde and straight. It had been put up in a neat short ponytail for the occasion. To humans, his eye condition was called heterochromia but for races who knew better this meant that Artolis was a hybrid.  His angel blood had been tainted with that of a mage. Mix breeds were common amongst most common angels but the chain of command was cruel and unforgiving. The higher you are on the chain, The stronger you are as an angel and most of these angels were pure of blood. With this in mind Artolis held his sword up and got in stance. Unlike Cerberus his palms became sweaty and nervousness became evident in his eyes. His grace was ruined by his fear. He doubted his potential by the queens side and feared that he might meet his end today.
