I made it back to my apartment just before dawn. My clothes were damp from the tunnels, and I smelled like mold and stagnant water, but I'd found it. The entrance to the Harvester's underground lair. I stripped off my wet clothes and stood in the shower, letting hot water wash away the physical residue while my mind raced with what I'd discovered. The dimensional tear. The crossing point. The abandoned station deeper in the tunnels. I needed to go back—Map out the entire area, understand how the Harvester's servants moved through that space. Find weaknesses in their patrol patterns. But I also needed to be smart about it. Rushing in had nearly gotten me killed in the Shadow Depths. I couldn't make the same mistake here. I dried off and was getting dressed when my phone rang.
