I couldn't keep going like this, saving one person while three others died. The math was simple and brutal, and if I didn't change my approach the Whisperer would keep winning no matter how hard I fought. I needed to do more, needed to push harder, needed to find a way to save multiple people before the entity could slip away and infect someone new. The idea came to me in the exhausted haze between sleep and waking, that dangerous space where desperation started looking like strategy. What if I didn't pull completely out of someone's mind after breaking the corruption? What if I stayed connected just enough to sense when the Whisperer jumped to its next host, then followed it there and broke that hold too? It was risky, probably stupid, definitely beyond the safe limits Gia had warned me
