Marcus called me two hours later.
"I'm going to talk to Andrea."
I sat up straight. "What? No. Marcus, don't do that."
"She's your aunt, Kaiden. Someone who raised you. If anyone can reach her, get through to whatever's left of her real self, it's someone she knows."
"She's not herself anymore. The Whisperer has merged with her. She's dangerous."
"I'll be careful. I'll meet her in a public place. Just talk to her, see if there's any part of Andrea still in there." Marcus's voice was determined. "We can't just give up on her without trying."
"Marcus, this is a bad idea."
"Maybe. But I'm doing it anyway. She just texted me asking if I wanted to grab coffee and catch up. That's normal Andrea behavior. Maybe there's still hope."
