Chapter Fifteen - Training

Waking up early on is for the birds, but I’m training with the warriors again today before I start my Luna training with Lucy later. Yesterday was Sunday  so I spent most of my day doing laundry and getting everything ready for our week. Merrick was dealing with the border control schedule for the week and we are both regretting staying up late last night. 

“I need coffee.” I hear him say in the most sleepiest voice I’ve ever heard. 

I roll my eyes then head out of our room and to our kitchen down the hall. After making Merricks cup of coffee I take it back to the room and sit it by his side of the bed. 

“You’re the best.” I hear him say and he takes my hand. 

“I’m getting in the shower.” I tell him and kiss his head. I go to the bathroom and start the shower. Once I step into the shower I hear the door to the bathroom open and close. Then the door to the shower opens and my naked mate steps in. He stands behind me and wraps his arms around my body. I melt into his body as we just stand under the water. I feel Merrick kiss my neck and his manhood grow hard against my lower back. I reach a hand up and run it through his wet hair and he lightly growls against my skin. He bends me over and thrusts into me, causing me to scream at his suddenness. Merrick slaps my ass and plunges himself in and out of me. My hands are against the wall to help me stay in place and the warm water runs down our bodies. I moan every time Merrick hits the right spot, making me orgasm over and over again. My legs begin to shake and Merrick swiftly pulls out of me. He picks me up and slams me against the shower wall. I wrap my legs around his waist and he starts pumping into me, hitting harder than the time before. My fingers lace through his hair and I moan his name.

We finally finished in the shower once the water ran cold then quickly got out and got ready for the day. I admire how handsome Merrick looks in his dashing suit and the watch I got him. “I’m going to miss you while you’re at work.” I say. 

I watch as Merrick looks up at me with a smile on his face. “I’m going to miss you too my love.” He replies and hugs me tight against his chest. 

I feel like I am finally healing after all the pain and loss. I don’t cry as much and I haven’t had a nightmare since that day last weekend. Merrick makes everything better, I don’t know what would have happened to me or my people if he didn’t show up when he did. I often wonder if my parents were still alive if Merrick and I would have met or not. But I guess this was just fate, a pretty terrible way to meet but still fate. I don’t understand the Moon Goddesses reason as to why my parents had to die in order for my mate and I to meet but I guess I’ll never really know. 

Merrick takes my hand and we walk downstairs. When we reach the first floor Merrick turns to me and says, “I love you Sky, have a good day of training. I’ll see you tonight.” He kisses me passionately before he leaves out the front door. Thanks to our long shower he has to skip breakfast and head straight to work. I head to the dining hall and grab a banana from the table before going to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water. After eating my banana I run out to the training field and start to do my stretches. I see Griffin and Valencia walking over to me and offer them a smile. 

“Hey guys.” I say.

“Luna.” Griffin replies and bows his head. 

“Griffin you can call me Skylla, no need to be all formal.” I tell him with a small laugh. 

“Don’t mind him, he didn’t get much sleep last night.” Valencia says while rolling her eyes. 

“That’s an understatement.” Griffin remarks, “I had to help with patrols since one of the guards kids are sick.”

 “That sucks. Are the kids okay?” I ask.

“I think so, I haven’t heard otherwise though.” He answers. 

“Who was it? I’ll go by and check on them at lunch.” I say.

“His name is Rafeal, he and his mate live with their kids at one of the cabins on the west side of the territory. I can have Shane show you the way.” 

“Thank you.” 

We start off with a three mile run then move on to core strength. We break up into teams and do some sparring and the head warrior shows us a few new techniques while fighting against an enemy while in human form. By the time we are finished we are all sweaty and breathing heavy. It’s almost ten in the morning and we are finally done so I head inside to meet Lucy for my Luna training. When I walk in I see her sitting in the living room talking to a few other older women. Lucy notices me and gets up from her seat to walk over to me. 

“Okay, you ready my dear?” She asks me. 

“Yep.” I reply. I follow Lucy down the hall and she leads me to the room next to Merricks office. 

“This is your office. Merrick had a few things changed to suit your needs. I hope you like it.” She says while opening the door. I see gray and blue walls with a big gray desk. There’s a computer and a small vase of fresh flowers on the top of the desk, with a comfortable looking office chair sitting behind it. There’s a dark grey couch against one wall with built in bookshelves on the opposite wall, two light blue chairs in front of the desk and a coffee table between them. I see the box my parents left me on a table behind the desk and my heart sinks. I can’t believe I haven’t thought about all the paperwork or the box itself since the day we opened it. 

“I know it may seem a bit overwhelming right now but you’ll get the hang of it in no time. There’s some files in the drawers of the desk for the scheduling of the kitchen and house chores. There’s also files on all the families and their needs. You’ll be able to find pack expenses and bank information in the safe which is right here.”

Lucy turns to the bookshelf and moves a few books aside. I look over her shoulder to see her slide a panel to the side, revealing a safe in the wall. 

“Only Lunas and Alphas know about the safe. We also keep deeds to the land, house, and businesses in here. Merrick told me about your paperwork from your parents and there’s plenty of room to put them in there.” Luce says while opening the safe.”Here is the code, make sure to throw this out once you memorize the code. ”

Two hours of information and tons of questions later I’m finally able to take a break for lunch. My brain feels like mush as I make my way to the dining hall. I take my seat at the table and start piling food on my plate. I take one bit before my phone rings in my pocket. I sigh and grab out my phone.

“Hello?” I answer.

“Hey there angel I was just calling to see how things are going with training.” I hear Merricks voice on the other end of the phone.

“Good, a lot of information to process but I think I’ll get the hang of everything by the end of the week.” I reply and take another bite of food. 

“That’s great. I’m proud of you.Did you like your office?”

“Yeah it’s very nice thank you.” I say with a full mouth. 

“You’re welcome. Listen I’ve got a couple meetings to head to but I hope the rest of your day goes well. I love you Sky.” Merrick tells me. 

“I love you too Merrick. I’ll see you later.” 

We hang up and I continue to eat my food. Once I’m finished I head to the kitchen and have the staff pack up some food for me to take to the family with the sick children. I mindlinked Shane already and he’s waiting at the front door for me. I thank the staff and head to the front of the house. When I make it to the door Shane bows head before we make our way to the west territory. We make it to the cabin in about ten minutes and I knock on the door. A tall man with dark hair and bags under his green eyes answers the door.

“Luna.” He says while bowing his head. 

“Hey I heard your kids are sick and I wanted to come check on you guys. I brought some food so you don’t have to worry about making lunch.” I reply with a smile on my face. 

“Thank you. I know my mate will really appreciate that.” He takes the food from me.

“Is there anything you guys need?”

“Oh no Luna we should be set. Everyone is resting right now, hopefully they feel better once they get up. It was a pretty rough night.”

“I imagine it was. Well if you need anything don’t be afraid to let me know.” I say.

“I will, thank you Luna.” He tells me.

Shane shows me the way back to the pack house and I meet Lucy in my office to finish the day's training. I still have a lot to learn but I feel confident in being the Luna of this pack. Of course I still have fears of being a leader like failure, inadequacy, and making the wrong decision during trying times but I know with time I will become a great leader.
