CHAPTER FOUR: DISCOVERY.

1255 Words
After my last encounter with Leo, I was released from the dungeon to a dimly lit room which I call my new prison. I had a lot of unanswered questions in my heart. I was very confused. I could not let go of the feeling of how trapped I was in the custody of Leo. Leo had not come to see me since our last encounter in the dungeon. I think that suited me just fine because his absence gave me a space to think and plan. But come to think of it, plan what? Another thing his presence left me with is uncertainty. It was looking like I was missing those words, piercing eyes, and the rest. My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the heavy door opening. I stopped pacing and turned to face him...... Leo stepped in but didn't say anything. He just stared at me with his golden eyes. For the first time he was not looking like the invincible, Almighty Alpha I had hated. He was something better than all these. "You're human" he finally said, his voice rough and low, as though it was a confession he was not supposed to make. I crossed my arms and said, mocking him, "Congratulations on your knowing. Why did it take you this long?". His lips twitched"Empress, don't test me. I'm trying to understand something that should not be possible" "What is that? That I'm not one of your wolves like you thought or that Almighty Alpha doesn't know what to do to me?"I shot back, my words very sharp. He moved closer. "But you should have been one of us", he murmured."The moon is always accurate; it does not make mistakes. It chose you, but how come you're human".He said and for the first time, he looked lost. There was this sympathy blooming in my chest but this man that kidnapped me from my village and declared his own like I was an object does not deserve it. "Why does it matter so much "I asked curiously. Leo's eyes got back to mine"Because it changes everything", he said."You're not built for this world. You're fragile, vulnerable, and if the pack finds out you're human..."He stopped. "Complete it. They'll kill me right?"I asked with bitterness in my voice. "Not if I have anything to do with it ", he growled. His tone sent shivers down my spine and I did not like how he made me feel". "Why do you act like you care?"I asked."You're the one that kidnapped me and locked me up. Even when you don't know me now, you're acting like you cared. Please does it make sense?" "I don't have all the answers, Empress "Leo said, his voice strained. But one thing am sure of is that you're mine. The moon chose you for me and I can't let anything or anybody take you away from me. "Yours" I repeated. Leo, I'm not a thing to be owned. Know this and know peace. If you ever think I'll ever accept you then you're joking" There was silence for a moment, then, to my surprise, I saw a faint smile on his lips. "I was just expecting this ", he said quietly. Leo did not know that he was gradually getting at me but I still maintained my resolve. This time I did not respond to that, so I turned away. I was just at a crossroads because I didn't know why I was the one chosen amongst others. Why did it mean to be his Luna? And why was some part of me gradually drawn to him? Leo moved closer"Empress, I need to know something. Why were you in that village at the time the wolves came? "That's none of your business".I said sharply. “You're so incredible, you need to talk to me. I’m here to save you. If the pack knows you're human, they’ll eat you up, but I’ll not let anything hurt you. You must listen to me and stop challenging me. “You're claiming to be my survivor, right?”What did you want to hear from me? Whatever you’re claiming will never make me accept you. “You're so difficult, Empress. You’re mine and my Luna”.He said. I’ll be waiting to hear from you. _____ Before I left the dungeon, Elara gave me some updates of what was going on in the pack as she had been there before I came. I couldn't believe that my position as a Luna is something that can be envied. Aria, a female from the Beta bloodline, is jealous of my position as Luna because she has always wanted to be a Luna. I never knew till now that one would be desiring the Luna of a pack that I was forced to be. She had always wanted the power and prestige that comes with being a Luna and now she was willing to do whatever it took to get it. One day after I was released from the dungeon, I heard a knock on my door. I was new to the environment, so I took some time opening the door, and lo and behold, it was Aria. Aria? What does she want? Right from the day I entered the pack, she had always smiled at me and pretended to be my friend until Elara told me about her. This time the expression on her face was full of jealousy and resentment."Empress, "I came here to tell you. In case you don't know, I am the one meant to be the Luna of this pack; you can't just come in and become the Luna. It does not work. I came to warn you to step down because that position belongs to me else...I'll deal with you" " she said with every boldness in her turn and left. I stood in awe, very speechless. She wants to be Luna? And will deal with me if I don't step down. How do I handle this? I'm not the one that made myself a Luna. She should go to Leo and tell him so. I took everything she said so seriously not knowing she would go to extreme to get what she wanted. I did not know that Aria had conspired with Leo's enemies to have me kidnapped, hoping that with me out of the way, she would be the obvious choice to take my place as Luna until one fateful evening. After leaving the dungeon, my new room was my second cell because I was not going anywhere. Aria had visited me once, peradventure to see where I was staying. That fateful night, almost midnight. A noise woke me up. It was a scary one. I heard three voices of different wolves. "This is the place. Let's go in."One of the wolves growled. "No, it's the next building" the other wolf argued. Their argument lasted for a few seconds, then they started walking towards my room. I I felt I was going to die. They got to my door and started pushing the door to break it but it was not opening because it was iron. They had a chemical, they poured on the iron bars and shook so strongly that it opened. I felt like dying. They used their hand and signalled that I should keep quiet because if I shouted, they would kill me. They tied my hands and mouth and carried me out of the pack to an unknown destination. Then everything went black.
