IV An Answer To Prayer Monday morning, Mike went through the motions. His job still held intrigue, but today it was not enough to distract him from the emptiness he felt in his soul. Not talkative by nature, his quiet despondency went unnoticed by his co-workers. Despite his loneliness, this came as a relief to Mike. The last thing he wanted was to draw attention to his pain and expose it to the world. At lunchtime, he did not feel like making the effort to socialize and sat at a table by himself. Mike consumed his food, his nose buried in a book. His inner turmoil settled and the story absorbed his thoughts.
