Waylon The sky was starting to get dark but I couldn’t seem to get out of the chair that sat in front of our place in the camp. It had been hours since my body collided with my brother Callens to stop a tree from crashing down on top of him. Echo had risked everything, exposure, angering the Elders, chaos, all to save him. We watched her effortlessly throw the massive redwood the opposite direction as where we lay to the side of the dais and onto boulders she summoned from the ground, there were screams and shouts of disbelief, fear, and excitement afterwards. We both scrambled to get up and go to her but by the time we were on our feet and turned to her direction she was gone. I rushed through the crowd screaming her name, I searched for what seemed like a lifetime but I didn’t find her.
